Basically sounds like Balfe's arrangement of Fiedel's original theme, something that Salvation severely lacked. Can't remember Beltrami's work on Rise of the Machines. But man, is it good to hear this again - the main theme of my Holy Grail of film scores. Love it. Thanks for sharing. Hope there's more lol.

So the file name is Vista_7m45_End_Credits_c48_v2_04_LB-AM-Mix03-18_Stereo_Mix. Obviously LB is Lorne Balfe, could AM be Alan Meyerson? He's listed as "Music Scoring Mixer".

More like directly from the studio. I don't know where the exact page is that they listed this cue, but I think it's the only one uploaded..

Never judge a film by its ad campaign. Sometimes the marketing department gets it right, generally it gets it wrong. (David Fincher said, based on his experience, the default position of most marketing departments is the film is crap, regardless of the movie's true quality, and its up to them to save it. Hence, you get trailers that are wildly inaccurate.)

You're right... but then again, the trailers for Genysis have given away so much of the film that it's hard not to judge it based on what we've seen so far.

That's actually a pretty sweet cue... and lovely that he's using the original decent theme. The movie will be trash, but we'll get a decent score out of it. The other movies have been woooooooefully scored.

I'm so glad they kept the original theme. Balfe's score is one of the few things I'm looking forward to about this film. I actually think hiring him was a good idea, since the RCP sound meshes well with Fiedel's from the first two films.

Agreed. When I saw the latest trailer, I felt ike they just dropped a huge spoiler and pretty much gave away the entire film

The movie will be trash

Cameron himself has officially given it his approval. He even said it should be counted as the third Terminator film, and to completely ignore Rise of the Machines and Salvation. Which I already have, anyway. There never should have been any more after Judgement Day.

Cameron is making sequels to the boring Avatar movie, he's also 'given his approval' in the past to Terminator Salvation. But I do agree, Judgement Day is where it should've ended. Although, a few eps of Sarah Conner Chronicles were pretty sweet...

I guess a lot of you guys already know this but just in case, for eveyone who loves the Brad Fiedel's scores, I urge you to listen to the Terminator Salvation VIDEO GAME soundtrack (only existing as a bootleg I believe).
It's one of my favorite terminator score. Even if Grin's game was a shame, the score is way better than the ones for all T2 sequels... ;)

Yeah well, in this new interview he's not so kind towards Salvation. He says Genysis is more canon. And Avatar wasn't for everyone. I guess you didn't enjoy it like myself and 99% of the world.

He never gave his approval to Salvation. That was even stated outright in the Terminator Vault when McG said "We didn't have his blessing." and Cameron said that it was "an interesting movie that I didn't hate as much as I thought I would." In other words, he hates the movie, just not as badly as he expected to. And he never really said much on T3 either: he's quoted as being on the T3 red carpet as saying the movie was "in one word: great" but again, in Terminator Vault, he expresses his bitterness over the third film. Here, he doesn't seem to have any bitterness at all. He's moved on.

I'm still iffy on seeing it or not. At first I was totally against it. And then the latest trailer dropped and I felt like they gave away the entire film. But after seeing that new Cameron interview on Monday, and after hearing that Balfe retained Fiedel's original theme (something that T3 & T4 did not), I may have changed my mind. I still don't think there should have been more after T2, but whatever.

ggctuk2005
06-10-2015, 09:26 PM
Well, Cameron would have made a third film himself if he had had complete creative control over it, of that I am sure.

My only disappointment pre-release, marketing aside of course, is that the film seems to just be in 3D, with no 2D option available, at least in UK cinemas. I don't know if that's the case in other countries. As for the film itself, well... I'm just going to say that, to me anyway, it looks better than Salvation and T3. However, I want to judge it on the whole of the film, not on what we've been shown so far. I want to see how it all weaves together.

I agree with you both and hope there is more to the story than what the trailers have revealed. Regardless, I'll see it anyway. (I know, I know, just call me Sucker or Huckleberry Dumbbell. At least there is the hope that Balfe's music will be worth a listen.)

Also agree that with T2 the series was done and dusted. But as long as audiences are risk averse to new movies, so will Hollywood. That means more sequels, remakes (a new Point Break, really? How are you going to improve on the original?) or spin offs. (A Transformers universe? Why, because the first four films are such models of tight plotting and memorable dialogue?)

Apparently the movie has been given a PG-13 just like Salvation. I've given up. I have no hope for the future.

And don't anybody give me that "don't judge a film by its rating" bullshit. Spare me. Terminator needs to be R. It's one of those films.

That is totally different. Every single Jurassic Park film is PG-13. The first 3 Terminator films are R. Imagine if Judgement Day was PG-13? I can't. I'd rather live in a world where Skynet becomes self-aware than a world where it wasn't rated R

I thought I'd throw this out there: In the UK, The Terminator originally released as an 18. When the DVD version came out, it was downclassified to 15. Terminator 2 was a 15. Terminator 3 has always been 12, as was Salvation.

I might also mention that Jurassic World is a lot more brutal in certain senses than Jurassic Park was. I certainly don't remember seeing that level of blood or people being eaten (the lawyer doesn't count - and that's probably why Rexy isn't dead)

Well, I think it was a mistake for people to find out about it so early.

This happens all the time. Companies uploads sensitive material, but instead of keeping it private they keep it unlinked to and assume that will solve everything. It hardly does.

Lorne Balfe is the composer.

They were quick to remove that.
Usually sites are bad fixing their mistakes.

But since it's hotlinked directly from this infamous site, they probably just backtracked to here, saw the piracy and said "nope".
Wouldn't be the first time.
Zach Hemsey had that problem at one time with his site for the "Mind Heist" single. All his assets were public and unencrypted hotlinkage spilled everywhere for a short time.

THanks for the sendspace OP.
