Yup also something that I mentioned. I cannot place it, but the movie scene where that piece of music in was something like a discovery, exposition like scene.
More in the X-Men First Class range...

And many other themes remind me of some good scores back in the days.
Like track 14, where he putted some Lost World game OST music in on 1.41 (that was actualy the Raptor theme from the game that he composed).

It's still lossy, what I meant is iTunes has really improved on their sound quality that there really is not a huge difference in the spectrum of an audio file from an iTunes purchase vs a lossless file.

I'll see it. I liked Tervorrow's last movie, Safety Not Guaranteed, the early reviews on JWare positive and apparently Trevorrow's taken some swipes at the culture of "bigger, faster, better" that pervades so much of modern life and I like a summer movie with some depth. Hopefully, the latter is true and not some PR puffery.

Amazon has a nice pre-order package for JW: a HD digital copy of Jurassic Park, a $15 Fandango Movie Ticket to see JW in theater and the Blu-Ray pre-order for JW for $29.99. I ordered it.

Looks like that bit he teased from the scoring sessions on Instagram turned out to be a pretty big theme... I've heard it in Chasing the Dragons, Raptor Your Heart Out, and the end of the 12 minute suite. I don't mind, it's dank.

This is a Giacchino Jurassic Park score if I've ever heard one. It's interesting juxtaposing him to Williams like this. I used to think the two had such similar styles.

I still find myself preferring his Planet of the Apes from last year, that score still moves me so much even now. But I'll wait for this to grow on me.

Here is an iTunes purchase of the score, basically retains almost all of the information as a lossless file would.

Thanks a lot for sharing! Giacchino's done a lot of great work this year.

Still, if I'm going to rank his scores for myself in order of replay value just to listen to, 1) Jupiter Ascending 2) Tomorrowland 3) Jurassic World. I think the best stuff on this one is Williams's. Giacchino does better when he gets to make a score from scratch not having to integrate existing themes. It tends to stifle his creativity imho - at least judging from his Star Trek work (and now this) vs original scifi like John Carter and Jupiter Ascending. Not to say this isn't a good score and won't work well in the movie. He's one of the best composers out there right now.

Saw the movie last night. It's okey. Just consider it a whole new Jurassic Park 1. Score works fine in the movie.

And I'm sure you will find your cue in the end of it.

You can't really imagine it as a new Jurassic Park 1. The movie doesn't work otherwise. Quite a lot of the movie relies on it being a sequel to the original. You can ignore The Lost World and Jurassic Park 3 and have it go Jurassic Park then Jurassic World. That's it. It's not a reboot. It's a sequel.

There is a cue in the film that features the 7m64 piano theme, but an octave higher, it's when the two brothers discover the old storage building. It seems to be unreleased, unfortunately. There was a couple of other times where I heard JW's original themes, but they are ultimately unreleased.

Universal probably will especially if JW catches fire with the audience. So far, the summer movie season has not performed as well as hoped. Avengers: AoU will probably make the same amount as the first movie and you know Marvel was hoping for more, Tomorrowland is a dud and a loss for Disney, Spy is performing at the lower end of expectations, and Poultry-geist, err, Poltergeist went to an early grave. San Andreas will earn Warner a tidy sum, but it's not a movie for the ages, not even The Rock of Ages (sorry, couldn't resist) and MM:FR will also make a healthy profit for the studio and it's one of the few summer films that's received acclaim from critics and audiences.

That's my long winded way of saying if JW does Avengers style business at the box office you can almost guarantee a deluxe 2 CD edition.

The movie was amazing. I had nostalgia trips and goosebumps the whole time. When the kid opens the window in the beginning to the main theme...I wanted to cry. It was perfect.

I wasn't into Giacchino's new theme until I actually saw the movie, now I can't get it out of my head. "As the Jurassic World Turns" and "The Park Is Closed" are my favorites, obviously along with "Welcome to Jurassic World".

JURASSIC WORLD is a different movie.. it needs a different score. John Williams is John Williams, he's a great composer and musical master, but for the type of action in the movie, Giacchino was a better choice. ..... JURASSIC PARK is a whole different movie from Jurassic Park.. so I FELT it was right..
.

I don't understand this AT ALL. It's not like Williams would cut and paste his first Jurassic score into this one. And to say that he wouldn't know how to serve this "whole different" Jurassic film is preposterous. The man has scored like 150 different movies and obiously knows his s*it and is probably the best in business like ever

And, anyway, Giacchino is the closest to Williams you can get nowadays

Lockdown

Yeah..to say John Williams couldn't handle any film is unreasonable, he's composed plenty of action music. And it's beautiful. For Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Harry Potter, even Jurassic Park..

I think what you meant to say is Michael Giacchino is capable of taking Williams' themes as well as creating new music for a large film. He was able to take Williams' throne, basically. It's not a matter of him being more suitable for the film, but because he was able to fit Williams' shoes, perfectly.

Spielberg, Giacchino and Williams have been crafting music together since the late 90's when Spielberg hired him to do The Lost World and Medal of Honor series. Helped mature him from electronic to full orchestral. Giacchino has now come full circle back to the Jurassic franchise and I see this score as an acknowledgement of where he started and to where he is now. And it only seems right that Giacchino scored it as this whole film itself is an acknowledgement of what has been and a 'Passing of the torch' kind of film with various nods all the way through as if to emphasize this itself.

Williams is a master, but he has been losing his touch a little. Look at Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets. The entire Quidditch sequence was, well... sloppy. It was made up of material from the first film and then, randomly, music from Star Wars: Attack of the Clones and felt poorly put together. Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, Lincoln and others despite being nice listens are not particularly memorable. I think he's done so many films now that he might be struggling to come up with something new. I hope Force Awakens is a mixture of old themes and new themes instead of being a "Star Wars Greatest Hits" album. A "Star Wars Greatest Hits" would be a serviceable score for Force Awakens, but it wouldn't be a great one. Well I'll suppose we'll see in December, but I think Giacchino was the perfect choice for Jurassic World with his style being the perfect blend between the old and the new and honestly, I seriously doubt Williams would have done a better job. The essence of Jurassic World is something new being built on the foundations of what John Hammond built. This comes across perfectly in the film and through the score, with Giacchino's "Jurassic World" theme perfectly blending with Williams's "Jurassic Park" theme.

I'm not particularly a fan of Marvel myself. I liked the first Iron Man and Incredible Hulk, the rest are either average or outright bad (like GotG). But that doesn't mean it's not popular and sells like hotcakes. Look at the Fast & Furious franchise. Those films are always amongst the worst 10 films of the year every year they come out, but look at how much money they make. Same with Transformers.

Audiences love PG-13 jokes, violence and explosions, and it doesn't look like they'll tire of it any time soon.

I completely agree. Don Davis had a stab at it and he regretted it, he said that even though Williams melodies may seem easy he said that every line on the manuscript was the most complex thing he ever read and tried to adapt. Giacchino shouldve done his own thing because when he uses Williams score it really shows up his limitations. I had hoped Giacchino wouldve given us his Medal Of Honor style instead of his god awful Star Trek 09 style. IMO the film wouldve have improved if Williams had scored as the film was crying out for a Williams type score

Amazing how in a few years the name Marvel had become a brand like Pixar or Disney. From a business perspective Marvel must be doing something right.

Awesome share. I really want to see the movie, but have been disappointed with the last 2. Maybe this one will live up to the hype......

Jurassic World is not a perfect movie by any means but it is a perfectly entertaining movie. It's not a film like MM:FR that has a lot of subtext. It's a summer blockbuster. It knows what it is and it delivers.

'Nuff said.

P.S. Proving that while zombies, and superheroes are cool, nothing, but I mean nothing is cooler than dinosaurs!

Jesu Christo.. Shut up already. Every time there's some new score to surface..in comes you badmouthing the composer or the music. Get a life and let the rest of us enjoy ours. Granted everyone's entitled to his/her opinion, but damn.. You're just trolling.

And for what it's worth.. I really don't enjoy the original "Journey to the Island" cue all that much.. well, up until the "JP Theme" starts. But, for me, I don't care for the orchestration done by Neufeld (iirc?).

Was I talking to you.... I was responding to someone else... If you cannot deduce what I said or the fact that I was giving my opinion well then theres no other way to say it.... Fuck off and annoy someone else.... where have I said I didnt like the score or that I hate Giacchino..... Where..... I love Desplat, Giacchino and Tyler..... modern day composers but these guys cant come close to the awesome composers of Williams, Goldsmith,Barry,Horner.... imo and if you cant respect my opinion well theres no other way of saying... Fuck off or Vete la mierda

Thank you. I have listened to the music...

In my opinion I didn't like it that much. I prefer John Williams's Jurassic Park 1&2 Score.

I can't wait to see the film though :)

And so like-minded friends, I went to see the film last night...apart from some scenes that were OTT and that English woman was useless, I thought Jurassic World was epic!

It was worth the 14 year wait.

And now listening to the score during the film, my favourite was at the end when 'Rexy' roared on the helicopter pad with Jurassic World in the background, and also the Raptor scenes with Owen.

I hope they make a sequel - A good one this time!
