Here's the soundtrack to the wonderful film, Woman in Gold. I saw this about a month ago, and it was stunning. I plan on picking this up on CD, and purchasing the Blu-ray whenever it comes out. I recommend this film, because it is extremely underrated. Maria Altman's theme is part of the End Credits sequence, so I tacked it on at the end of the album...instead of being track 5, like it is on the official release. This is Apple Lossless, converted from a FLAC lossless WEB purchase. :)

This is a wonderful film and why the critics rejected it is beyond me. As always I seem to connect with the box office duds. Maria Altman's story is close to being accurate in this tale; her desire to reclaim the portrait of her beloved aunt that was stolen by the Nazis when they 'invaded' Austria. We learn that the Austrians actually welcomed the Nazis and most condoned their vile proclivities toward the Jewish population. Here we discover the famed Klimpt paint that became the 'Mona Lisa' of Austria was actually a commission from Maria's uncle. The flashbacks feature Tatiana Maslany as a young Maria, once more proving her excellence as a chameleon actress. Another casting note, the role of Aunt Adele played with such quiet delicacy is portrayed by the same German actress who played the butch, heavy Krypton Villain. This is a film about a painting, a family, and doing what is right after so many wrongs.

I recommend it. ;-)

Sadly I can't play/ burn this file format. ;-(

Never heard of this. Look forward to listening and watching the film once it's on blu-ray. Thanks!

It doesn't need blue ray enhancement to be a valid and moving watching experience, in my opinion.

There are few films about art... especially art restitution .... since such films do not have spaceships, dinosaurs, or explosions. And the Klimpt painting in question has been his most famous... the Nazi's took away the model's Jewish name... calling it simply Woman in Gold... or was it the Austrians who did that? Nevertheless, they had no intention to return it to the proper owner.
