Has he never composed anything to begin with, not in the games not in kai. yet, he confirms himself has composer. no dude, you arrange... super botuden 2 or 3, one of them, cell's theme is the main theme of Total Recall. HELLO???? I could go on forever pointing all music kenji yamamoto composed yet, never was his to begin with. Fucking liar.

Ok, after listening to the soundtrack, here are my thoughts in a nutshell.

You would think that 2 years after the soundtrack to Battle Of Gods, they would of put a little more care into the next one. My problems with that soundtrack was that it was clogged with too many tracks which criminally short. I can only remember a few tracks, but everything else was mediocre (Again, the length ...)

Sadly, while this one has some better tracks, it too faces those same problems ...

Going into detail - The Soundtrack to Fukkatsu No F I find has stronger positives then the BOG OST, But it's negatives I find are worse then the former.
My favourite tracks are the following: 13. Freeza's Army Attacks, 18. Freeza and His Terrible Power, 21. Golden Freeza Appears, 22. Desperate Struggle Against Golden Freeza & 30. "Z" no Chikai, After the Battle. Those are easily the strongest tracks on this release, and thankfully, their lengths are decent (THANK YOU!). BOG's battle themes did not even last a minute.

But, that is where my praise ends on this release ...

Everything else just sounds ... uninspired? And pretty bland in places. Track 23 has a really good start, then descends into audible poop. And of course ... A lot of them do not even last up to a minute. For some tracks I understand but come on. Just like with BOG, this release would of really benefited from track trimming.
Honestly, I feel this OST was rushed for the film. It is a shame to, this had potential to blow the BOG soundtrack away.

Oh well. It is funny however, I recently acquired an older work of Norihito Sumitomo from 2007, The UNFAIR Movie OST. Now THAT is a dam good soundtrack and has to be one of his best. Comparing it to his latest works ... I have noticed quite the drop in quality.

I agree with you 100%. I know Norihito Sumitomo works way before he worked on DBZ, and I expected him to give a fresh air to it in musical terms. But damn.... he uses a LOT of sampling to compose the music in here. I say sampling, because I heard tons , TONS , of music using the same exact cues he uses in here. For example the 3rd track..think of Naruto 2003 ost, track 3.

Hmmm, I have noticed that. As soon as that sampling came up on the BOG OST, Naruto immediately came to mind. Again, I actually recommend the UNFAIR: The Movie soundtrack because he can do better then this, and that proves it.

HELL YES to Yuugo Kanno :D. Been getting into Jojo's lately, and those soundtracks are sex to my ears. I can picture that seeing as his Birdy The Mighty work as a style would fit in DBZ if they ever went that route.

worst part: I was part of a group that more or less started the rebirth of Saint Seiya by petitionning toei like a bunch of lunatics to have the Hades part adapted. If I had known that 15 years down the road we'd have "Episode G" "Omega" "Next Dimension", "Saintia Sho"...THe only decent thing that came out was Lost Canvas.

Note that, Unlike Orie, I'm not wishing ill onto either Toriyama and Kurumada. I still cherish the original work, while patiently ignoring to the point of nearly being able to "negate" the existence of all this useless sequels, spin offs and bad fluff. A Manga is not a Godly thing. I like SIlent Mobious remaked plot of the TV series more then the mangas. I love hellsing TV much more then the manga. Everyone misses the point of the word "Adaptation" of already existing written material.

I love hellsing TV much more then the manga.
I'm always baffled at why people think so. Mostly because I despise Hellsing TV. But aside from that:

Your childhood isn't really ruined, you know. You can always IGNORE all this fucking new shit (which I agree, it's shit). It's not like Akira Toriyama is shoving all this down your throat.
And whoop dee frickin' doo. He only cares because of the money? Well, I'm not surprised. Considering he never managed to make a manga even quarter as succesfull as Dragon Ball (aside from Arale, but that was before DB I believe). Last time I remember about anything new from him, was a manga about a character that looks like fat Buu. And that might have been somewhere around ten years ago. He just wants money? He's milking the franchise? Well, okay. Good for him. At least he's not anywhere near poverty.

While I'm not defending him, I honestly can't get angry at him either. At least he's not a nostalgia exploiting scumbag making a rip-off of an existing franchise, like a certain "Game developer" called Keiji Inafune.
Yet regardless of what I feel, I don't wish death upon Inafune. Even if his shrewd business tactics disgust me (just like his project).

As a Star Wars and J.R.R. Tolkien fan, I know exactly what you mean, with the Star Wars prequels, shitty games and cheap (story-wise) Clone Wars series. Peter Jackson losing his way completely like George Lucas with the Hobbit movies. ... And to a lesser extent post-timeskip One Piece (depends on where they go after Dressrosa-saga, please go back to being about comradery One Piece :P This overly epic stuff with 100 characters in play in the same fight is actually unnecessary and confusing, not exciting)

I mean to say that probably everyone on a forum like this has a strong childhood love for something and odds are that "the industry" is messing it up. It's part of growing up to recognize it and to let it go. Star Wars fans learned that hard lesson long ago. Filmmusic-wise, everyone who grew up with the diverse sound of 80s and 90s filmmusic has had a hard lesson to learn with the rise of a more uniform-sounding filmmusic sound, primarily headed by Zimmer and his studio. The 80s are gone, the 90s are gone. Maybe the new DBZ will catch the magic of the old series, but it will still be computer-drawn, it will still try to appeal to today's kids, it will still try to incorporate the post-DBZ anime-cliches. Doesn't mean it's going to be shit, but if it turns out to be trash you are free to ignore it.
