You need to see Da Vinci Code first, though. Because A&D is by far the better of the two, and you always save the best for last. Both book AND film. I have read them (something that I never do, I hate reading - especially a book who's film adaptation I'm about to see).

What does it sound like? Not to sound like a clich� or insulting to any Catholics, but I imagine myself in a Catholic Church whenever I listen to this and Da Vinci. A lot of choir, chanting and violins. 6m38 God Save Us is hands-down the best cue on the score imo. I can only think of one word to describe it: "heavenly". As if God himself passed it down to us mortal beings. It's on par with the climax of Terraforming from MoS.

Just that I got sick of listening to the complete score with all the annoying fade-ins and fade-outs.
I tried doing an edit to the film as accurate as I could.

lol I got sick too, for finally 8 "likes" on my Edits lol same for Calidoran. it is probably more difficult to click on a "like" button :( I think I will not "edit" frequently from now.

It annoys me as much as it annoys you, trust me. It's the quality of the original FLAC files I had to work with. They were not great to begin with. I even tweaked all cues in Audition. I raised the decibel level by 2. So it's better than it originally was.

Looking over the other posts, this edit seems to be incredibly promising. Could I have a link? I'm quite intrigued. The score is one that polarizes me- I can't reconcile my love for the way it sounds with the realization that it's easily one of his most derivative score retreading previous work and that it's actually more up and down than I'd be usually willing to admit. Regardless, thank you especially considering it's been a while since anyone has proffered any sort of treatment on it.

Hahaha I get it. Exceptional job, seriously, and I doubt anybody could say otherwise. I can't quite express myself as far as fidelity to film goes because I haven't seen it in a while and have no meter for comparison. I probably won't do so again any time soon (1. film was was pretty awful; 2. the music, as beautiful as it sounds here, isn't enough to save it; 3. nor is it helped by the mixing which, for whatever reason, is consistently poor in most movies accompanied by HZ's music). I admit I usually prefer listening to more isolated, faded cues if only to avoid being distracted by the temporary disorientation and lack of context if I'm not eased in - I'm slightly OCD that way (yes editing can be a nightmare) - but that said, as far as listening experience goes this was very pleasant and, though you could've used more generous fades (for ex. "Hypoxia"), I surprisingly really enjoyed the flow (7m46 is going to drive me crazy because I love how it sounds but I know I'll hate how concise it is hahaha). The tweak to sound was also a good instinct: loud when needed but not exaggerated (I love what it does to the strings; by comparison, Bell's violin in this edit's predecessor is almost muffled). I thought I wouldn't like the split God Particle track but it actually worked well and like having Pt.II on its own. DAK, this is something I'll be listening to a lot in coming days. Thank you.

After a good listen, i gotta say i enjoyed this more than i ever have. Originally i thought i would because of all the blending tracks but here it works perfect cause of all the short tracks, plus you have removed a lot of sound effects that derailed the listen in a lot of parts. Never heard of it. But the complete score has the Camerlengo suite which is what 6m38 God Save Us is derived from. I think that's the only actual suite that's been released. But if that 30-min suite you speak of is not fan-made I'd die to hear it

Just thought I would post this little nugget of info for what it's worth: The bonus track "H20" that was released when the original score came out is very similar to the track Bad Camerlengo on the complete score. The first half of H20 sounds pretty similar to the last half of Bad Camerlengo. Also, the track Bad Camerlengo is from the scene where Langdon discovers the security footage of the Camerlengo revealing his plans. Hope this might help someone!
