I saw "Unfriended" the other night, and I have to admit, it was pretty good.

However, one of the previews attached to it was something called "The Gallows".

If you haven't seen this preview, back out of this thread. If you have, please share your opinions. :)

You have been warned(whoever hasn't seen it).....

SPOILERS: the preview opens up with a girl sitting out of what appears to be a school hallway. She's hysterical and crying to herself for whatever the reason may be. After a few cited quotes from unknown reviewers, we see a shadowed figure with no face, and a noose in his right hand to the left of the girl. After the infamous "by Blumhouse Productions" quote, the girl turns on the camera. We view a strange marking on he neck, and hear a strange noise. The girl looks behind her, nothing there... She turns and..... BOOM! *jump scare* the noose is wrapped around her neck and she's dragged away through the hallway and inside the door. End teaser.

Now, probably most don't even care about found footage films because they're shitty and crapoy and whatnot. However, this preview has got me thinking.... I did my research on this preview and read the plot. So today, upon reading the hateful comments on YouTube, there was one that said "This is an unsolved case in Beatrice, Nebraska and that the killer is a dead student named 'Charlie Grimille'. He died upon the original production of the school production 20-30 years ago. 3 to 4 students break in on the school's resurrected play on opening night. They were locked in with no contact to the outside, no cell service and nobody knowing where they were. They died the next morning."

The only reason why it's supposed to be a found footage film is because it's the only evidence left of what happened to the students.

Your thoughts on this? Your opinion matters. :)

Even if based on true events, I've outgrown found-footage/hand-camera horror when they did so many excorcism stories and Grave Encounters 2 and the umpteenth Paranormal Activity.

My younger brother will probably be interested in this.
He hasn't nearly seen as much as I have so this concept would be less distorted to him.

I still have REC 2-4 to watch.
I enjoyed the first one a lot but have doubts about the remaining series.

See? This is exactly why I thought REC was a better version than Quarantine.

And besides, this should be interesting... I haven't seen a role with Cassidy Gifford for a while.

Oooh yeah... the American bastardization of any foreign property.

That's another reason I don't like these so much. Too much studio interference.
While everyone was raving about white Quarantine, I was trying to ask them how they felt about the Spanish version.
They got so offended like two gay dogs humping in the front yard.

I will probably see this. Paranormal Activity scared the living daylights out of me. And while it's getting tiring that they're dragging them out, I am still very interested in the plot because there's no ending to the story yet. The Marked Ones connects to PA1 in a brilliant way. I loved Quarantine but never saw REC. And As Ablove, So Below was not what I was expecting. Great way to end the summer, that movie was.

I will admit, As Above, So Below was a tad bit decent... And yes, The Marked Ones ended brilliantly, but people keep things dragging like the worlds gonna end or some shit....

Just found out the plot...
most of what I've posted is true....

However, the lead student has taken the lead place but has a case of "Stage Fright(which ironically was supposed to be the original title of the film, but it came out to be a different plot)" so the break in to the school to sabotage the stage the night BEFORE the performance, but Charlie has other plans.

I fucking loved As *ABOVE, So Below! Great surprise!

And this trailer certainly looks interesting! I'll probably see this film eventually (but not in theaters... :P)

Don't waste your time pal.... I mean, sure, it had it's moments, but it's NOT THAT great.
