It was a shame she had to die, but i don't feel sorry for them...

Aeris's death gave them hope ( in a way, especially after the Ancient Key business with Bugenhagen) it also gave them purpose and desire ( revenge) and it is possible Aeris knew exactly what she was getting into and what it meant for her...

I think, it is a little sad that she had to die. On the other side it makes games look more real. This shows, even main characters are no super heros. ;)

It is sad that she died, but it would really mess up the storyline if that did not happen.
