an unexpected upgrade to a little gem of horror movies.

comparing running times with this new intrada release vs my old silva-screen release, we get about 17 minutes more goldsmith :D

The original album, which I have, is one of Goldsmith's weakest. I don't think the 17 extra minutes can make a huge difference. But I want to lsiten to them anyway. :)

What makes you say it's not true Flac? I ripped this CD using EAC. Anyone else says this is not true flac??

Could be my analyzer I used Spectro and many of the tracks were topping out at 16KHz.

If you did the rip that's good enough for me I just thought perhaps you got it somewhere else and wanted to let you know.

That's strange. I used Abobe Audition and I'm getting a frequency response across 22KHz. Hmmm

files are lossless. nothing is clipped :)

Thank You very much, I bought the original Intrada Relase many many years ago, sealed for like $3.00 LOL that was the wonderful 90's when soundtrack CD's were so in abundances in record stores everywhere!

To each their own really... I have always had a fondness for Goldsmith's score to Warlock even though others deride it. I still prefer it to a great many of his more popular works, centred around a great theme. The original album (which I have owned since 1990) represented the score well, and didn't really notice much score from the film that was not included, so I am very excited to hear what has been added.

It took me quite a while back then to appreciate this score, it felt a bit like an off-Goldsmith score to me with its slow pace and oddball electronic "ting-tongs" in the main title but it makes me even more curious now to explore the extended tracks. Thank you in sharing, another nice addition in the vast Goldsmith library!

Over the years, I've grown to really enjoy the Silva release of this weird little Goldsmith score (with its jazzy, western, carnivalesque "plink-ploinking" main theme). When I saw this release coming out, I was eager to hear how the added material would enhance the score presentation, as I usually find that Goldsmith's scores do benefit from expanded releases. After listening to this one, though, I think I will be sticking with the Silva release. As much as I love Goldsmith, and as much as I've come to enjoy the "plink-ploinking," I don't think the added material actually enriches this particular score (thought the "A Witch Among Us" was a nice addition).

I'm curious to hear the entire presentation, I've heard the samples, I'm not familiar with Warlock at all, but I thought it sounded very good, something up my alley. Not your typical accessible, catchy or instantly satisfying Goldsmith, but still I heard some moments that can only come from the master.

Jerry Goldsmith is just my favorite film composer, for me his best work was "the Mummy (1999)", although "Van Helsing - Alan Silvestri" is pretty rhythmic too!!! but I prefer the Mummy!!! Up till now I haven't listened to an orchestral sound composed that way!!! although The Mummy (complete score) existed in various bootleg format but I hope it would be released officially by Intrada!!! anyway, thanks a lot!!!
