Hi Markcope,

This is a very ambitious undertaking, and I thank you for your efforts. I know this is the thread for Volume 2, but I have a question about Volume 1 related to the opening post of this thread. You mentioned that you will be posting improved versions of your earlier mono to stereo remasters. Does this include TOS Volume 1? I haven't downloaded it yet and was wondering if I should hold off on doing so. I listened to disc one of this set, and the results are quite good. Compared to the original mono versions of these recordings there is quite an improvement in the sound, and compared to other fake stereo mixes (I'm thinking of GNP's original TOS volumes) there isn't even a comparison. A lot of that improvement is result of LLL far superior source and mastering, but your stereo conversion enhances the sound even more. Again, many thanks!

Matt, I'm glad you liked the conversion. The improvements I referred to, were in fact, made during the conversion of Volume 1, so that set is fine for downloading. I'm slowly updating the older posts and have already done:-
John Williams - Land Of The Giants
Jerry Goldsmith - Voyage To the Bottom Of The Sea
Les Baxter - House Of Usher

If you check my posts start date, anything after and including Vol 1 is OK, prior to that, eventual updated will occur.

Interesting thread.

I've started using this HAAS STEREO ENHANCING DELAY PLUGIN | vescoFx.com (http://www.vescofx.com/vfxHaas) to covert mono tracks to stereo and am currently working on an orchestra set for the hit Broadway show 'Wicked', which I have in lossless WAV. It's mono, completely unprocessed and I'm having great fun with it at the moment!

Checkout AAY Audio plugins they are quiet good as well! :)

I was just listening to disc four last night, and I really love how the stereo sounds, with different instruments on the left and right. What program are you using for this effect, it really is fantastic. I can't wait for disc six!

Thanks, Steve

Poor old ST. You can hear the difference in the quality of the shows by the quality of the soundtracks. Season One is mostly rock solid. Season 2 has Amok Time and Doomsday Machine and not much else, either as far as the shows or the music goes, and season 3 is nothing that Id ever want to listen to or watch again.
But: I don't know how you did it, but your season 2 disk 2 actually sounds better, to my ear, that the LLL disk. Seems to me you're doing something different than you did with your season 1 conversions, as I can't tell much difference between them and the LLL, except for the stereo effect. But 2 #2 is amazing! Amok Time and Doomsday are two of my favorite ST scores and I mean, wow! Somehow there's just so much more clarity and richness to them. Thanks so much for doing this! Great job!

Mark, did you get to download that copy of "The Ghost and Mr. Chicken"? Was that link good? Let me know.

The link was for the lossy version, if you can get the flac version, that would be the best way to do what you want.

Eagerly (desperately) awaiting volume 3 -- some of the 3rd season scores are among my favorites!

Mark, isn't it easier to convert Lossless to FLAC? I really don't know about that stuff.

Hi all,

As a thank you, I decided to make some episode covers for these. You can find the episodes found on discs 1-5 in that set (discs 11-15 are still forthcoming).

You can click on the links below for fullsize versions.

Again, the brief writeup is that I decided to make episode-specific covers for the various (non-tracked) scores using period art and the RCA Classical's "Living Stereo" banner. Note that I added some custom Trek info, like the Desilu Logo and the year / number of each episode (pain the ass to change each time too). Most of the art is Juan Ortiz, but a few of them are sourced from other Google images where his either just wouldn't work or I felt like it wasn't very good. So non-Ortiz versions this time around include Doomsday Machine, Amok Time, Trouble with Tribbles, and the second versions of "Who Mourns" and "Mirror." The Third variatn for Amok Time was knocked together quickly by yours truly, since the first two don't reallY 'fit" the rest very well.

Anyway, on with the show!

Excellent work Stinkor! If you want me to, when you've completed the work, I can post the full set, using whatever link you put in the custom covers thread, in with the CD links, with their own heading and praise for your efforts.
