Hey thanks. I'll buy it as soon as it's released on good old compact disc. :)

It was released on Jan 21.

That being said, does anyone have a high-res (or medium res) image of the actual album art?
The image in the first post here is from an advertisement on the official site. Album art is missing the text at the top.

In the time it takes to download the album, you could have played it 3 times over

Wooooww ! You're an awsome person tri2061990 :)
The download is super fast for me (less than 10 minutes) and I don't have an incredible internet bandwith.

I hate to be "that guy," but has anyone converted this to a 320 mp3 version?SUPER Free Video Converter | MOV WebM MP4 MKV HEVC/H.265 VP9 | FREE Download (http://www.erightsoft.com/SUPER.html#Down)

It isn't the best converter (I personally use foobar), but its one of the simplest.
Just drag FLAC files to SUPER, output as CBR320 MP3, then delete the FLAC.

Download for Distant Worlds apparently takes 10 minutes for some, and converting such a small album would take 2-4 minutes.

It doesnt bother me that people want MP3s. It bothers me when they want MP3s, have access to the lossless files, have countless free options at their disposal to make their own MP3, and still choose to wait around for someone to do the conversion for them, and then upload it. You could save time and people extra steps and their own time if you just did it yourself. Making a new ffshrine member account is harder than down-converting to MP3.

It isnt like the reverse scenario where MP3 is present and Lossless is requested, because lossy cant go back to lossless

Some people don't have the bandwidth to download a FLAC album. Some people don't have computers that can convert well enough (or quickly enough perhaps). Some people don't have the harddrive space.

Just playing devil's advocate.

Also, it's usually more than one person that wants an mp3 version.

My turn: Solidfiles is s**t. You have a big bright green button to get a malware, and a tiny, no-style link saying direct download who is the actual corretc one. Even me I get caught.

But still, the most important thing: Thanks for the upload :)

While this isn't your fault, this album is disappointing. The performances themselves are solid, but the album suffers from what has been the problem with the latest Distant Worlds concerts themselves: track selection.

There is a huge amount of good material out there, but much of it is being ignored in favor of performances of pieces that have already been remixed to death. At the concerts, pieces with the choir, organ, and metal influences get the best responses, so why aren't more interesting pieces being arranged? For example, "Almighty Bhunivelze" would be an incredible experience to see played live. "Caius's Theme" has a choir part almost as good as One-Winged Angel and it is not performed.

The series is remixing older themes that have already been arranged to death by people like Overclocked ReMix. While it is difficult to improve upon contemporary music that is already very complex, the concerts are expensive and I would expect the performers to be able to play rearrangements of newer pieces.

Distant Worlds needs to change its focus. Roth needs to produce more arrangements of uptempo complex music, and he needs to keep up with the times. The Final Fantasy XIII series could be considered an entire series in itself, and yet he has performed just three pieces from the series in the entire repertoire of concerts.

Just playing devil's advocate.

Also, it's usually more than one person that wants an mp3 version.A <400MB file is almost nothing to download, it barely takes any time, even if you have an average DSL connection. And if you're pirating using a cell phone's internet connection, then you'll get no sympathy from me. Its foolish to pirate anything using a bandwidth cap.

And you can't use "I don't have enough harddrive space" as an excuse. The conversion of lossless to lossy doesn't mean you have to keep both lossless or lossy... If you don't have the pitiful 500MB on your harddrive to download, convert, then delete the lossless files turning a 400MB archive into a 80-120MB one, then you shouldn't be here in the 1st place. Thats like walking into a grocery store without any money in your pocket intentionally and then fill up your shopping cart and say "I don't have the money". Not to mention there are a few dozen free cloud-based storage solutions that could help you out there. Just playing devil's advocate here. You only get to use the "harddrive space limitations" excuse when you're talking about large multi-GB programs and files, not this album.

I have no sympathy for mp3-beggers when lossless is present, they're just lazy, usually too lazy to google.

Thanks. I saw that today, too.
My personal reason: I either play my music off of my portable players, or from the cloud. Haven't seen anything that supports FLAC playback that way yet.
