Could you be a little more specific?

At the opening FMV or elsewhere?

Do you mean like to shoot a bullet like a traditional gun or something? If so, never.

Strange. Well I did mean anywhere during the game. They have a gun...why wouldn't they ever use it?

Zulu

Edna: Hmm...could be because of post-traumatic stress disorder.

Zulu: N0 bullets perhaps?

Shinobu_Sensui

Probably. hmmm.....even if they did use the gun part...where would the bullet come out?

Did Squall or Seifer ever use the gun part of their Gunblade?
Yes, when you trigger a critical hit, an explosion occurs coming from the gun mechanism of the gunblade. The gunblade itself doesn't have any trajectory capabilities, so no it doesn't shoot bullets.

yeah they did, when you get a critical theres a firing kind of sound and an explosion so I assume thats the gun unless its just the critical way which it probably is.

yea, if u hit R1 right when you hear squalls sword begin to cut, it'll trigger the gun part of the blade and give extra hit points.

i just finally figured that out

yeah because one time i was playing the game and i got into a fight and i told squall to attack and he shot the enemy...

Seifer never uses his gunblade properly though, so he never shoots it well.

I thought it was general knowledge that Squall's gunblade had bullets in it.
There's a barrel down the middle of the blade so when Squall strikes the enemy, he pulls the trigger and a bullet goes in, causing critical damage.
Seifer's gunblade is made differently though. When Seifer pulls the trigger, some kind of kinetic force comes out of the back of the blade through vents (so I'm told) causing more force in the direction of the blade which in turn makes the blade move faster.

oh yeah i don't think seifer used it did he? well not to my knowledge... well anyways i would expect him to use the gun with bullets i mean it has slots for bullets and it has a trigger i mean it can't all be there just for looks...

seifer doed as the critical is the same for him

i guess it just shoots a blank and hopes the little bit of fire damages the enemy. its a pretty stupid idea actually

Yeah but it did do a little more damage than if you just left it

You can also set to Auto-Trigger, but I believe for Squall's Renzokuken, you have to Trigger on manual in order to get it to work better. The annoying thing about Squall's Renzokuken is that for some of the weird monsters like Jumbo Cactuar, the timing on the Trigger for his limit goes completely weird and quite different from usual.

Depends when you mean...

I dont think either Squall or Seifer, use the Gun part during the FMV's however you can activate the gun during random encounters and boss fights, by pressing R1 at the right time.

As for where does the bullet come out.. I always assumed that at the top of the gunblade ( where it kinda knicks in ) was the barrel, thats why you have to time it correctly

It shoots the bullet when he strikes an enemy, never does he use it only as a gun.

You control the Gunblade's action when you are performing Squall's limit break, by pressing the R1 button everytime to get a perfect..and then finalize it with a finishing move. ....In case....people don't know?

Or in the case that maybe people didn't read through the old thread and see that somebody already said that? (click)
