This soundtrack is magnificent!!! Forced several listens to appreciate. It is more complex than it seems at first listening.

I wish there were more new original soundtracks of Horner. It is the best there lately. Live orchestra !!! This man is exceptional!!! Great Horner!!!

now we have to wait "The 33" and "Southpaw" and who knows: "Hacksaw Ridge" je je, aupa Mel!!!

If you don't mind, there is a concert piece "Pas de Deux" very much enjoyable, and of course the National Geographic Documentary "Living In The Age of Airplanes" coming soon.

Hope the next feature film of Mel Gibson, dont be Hacksaw Ridge cause I WANT to see that project of The Vikings coming to life with the powerful London Symphony Orchestra and the superb skills of maestro Horner...

Only If the rejected Romeo & Juliet score was released... :(

Yes, Pas de Deux I've heard, it's different, it shows that it is not an original soundtrack, but piece for strings. I heard a recorded live mp3 and shared ffshine. I hope the CD release.

About what Living In The Age of Airplanes, I hope that some parts resemble The Spiderwick Chronicles and The Horsemen.

It would be great that Gibson could develop the project of the Vikings, but does not seem to have funding. Pity!

But it would be great also another war movie with Gibson + Horner. Horner soundtracks are great when Mel is in the direction. I think you can get much juice with Hacksaw Ridge. Maybe later...

Unfortunately I do not think we'll see the Romeo & Juliet... Unless it Intrada which take over. I doubt. This movie was a disaster in postproduction, to trace the whole movie. Nothing to do with the composer, who seems to have made another soundtrack is most notable. Time will tell...

If I wasn't so thoroughly familiar with the Horner back catalogue I'd sing the praises of this score, but when I hear, for instance, a barely disguised "Ripley's Rescue" 28 years after the fact I just want to give Horner a swat to the back of the head. That said, there is still some attractive (seemingly new) material here to enjoy; plus it's very nicely orchestrated.

Considering how often I've been listening to this score, and revisiting ALIENS because I just watched the first two movies which got me to make an "archival" sounding custom for it and STILL don't hear "Ripley's Rescue" at all in any part of this score....well...meh. Forget it. If you hear it you hear it. I don't. To each their own.

I've been listening to this score over the last few days (for obvious reasons) and I'm simply dumbfounded. It is remarkable - his most unique score in years and such a great sign of things to come. I'm so beyond sad that he's gone now. He had so much left to give, clearly. This score proves it beyond a shadow of a doubt.
