im asking this because i really dont feel like mastering all the red materia....
is it worth it? if so, what does is summon?

It doesn't summon anything different, it's just that it contains every summon in it. Instead of having a bunch of summon materias equipped, you can just put on a master summon, which enables you to summon every summon, only it takes up one materia slot. ;)

Thanks! you dont know how much time you saved me! i really dont use the summons... makes the battles too long.

Plus you can summon them as many times as you want. You need enough MP though.

also i'm pretty certain that a Mastered Materia class ( say magic or summon) does't have a negative effect on your stats ( no -str or Hp)

mooredd
11-16-2004, 05:15 PM
well if there are no negative stats then its worth mastering them. man, those summons can really drain your hp. plus they take forever to master, even when you do the elixer trick with those dudes in the pots.

If you think that's great, just see what happens when you put a mastered Quadra Magic in the same slot as a Master Summon. :P And then W-Summon.

I can't master my summons, my train crashed so I didn't get the third Bahamut!

Waaa!!

*sniff* At least I have most of them (missing two still, need to go to Ancient Forest and get my Gold Chocobo)

i'm pretty sure you can go to bone village and dig up Bahamut Zero if you missed it, along with other items u could have missed.

You can still get them all by defeating the Emerald WEAPON and then taking the Earth Harp to the Kalm Traveler in exchange for a master Command, Magic and Summon Materia.

All of the summons can be used on it, but you can only summon one of them at a time in the beggining.

As far as I know you can't dig for it. It would be too easy if you could. :(

I have a quickie to ask, if you avoid talking to the chocobos at chocobo farm, is their any other way to get the choco-mog summon. I've never missed it before but i was thinking about it the other day

No, you can only get it there. But you can do it later in the game, too. You don't have to do it right in the beginning. Just do it the next time you go there. ;)

okay, two questions:

one for dkhyrosha: do you mean you can go to ancient forest and GET a gold chocobo? or did you mean just go to the forest and then RAISE a gold chocobo whenever you feel like it?

one for odin: you mean there is an EARTH harp? obviously there is the LUNAR harp. hmm...didnt see that anywhere on gamefaq... well then thats obviously a lot quicker than mastering every summon individually..sweet....

Whatever it is the Emerald WEAPON drops. It's been nearly two years since I last played FF7.

i've never actually had to dig for it, but i remember one of the strategy guides saying if you go there in disk 3 you can dig and find the summons and other big items u might have missed through the game

No. If you beat the Ruby Weapon and take the desert rose to the guy in Kalm, he'll give you a Gold Chocobo. I just raised my from scratch.

yah, there are three items you give the traveler in Kalm. I can't remember what they all are called, but

beat Emerald Weapon, take item
beat Ruby Weapon, take item
get book from underwater reactor

this will get you a Gold Chocobo (Ruby)
and all the Mastered Materia (something I learned here as hope for my master summon)

The three items are called Desert Rose, Lunar Harp and Guidebook.
Desert Rose == Gold Chocobo
Lunar Harp == Master Materia
Guidebook == Underwater Materia - makes battle against Emerald easier - no time limit

To round it off, Master Summon, IS ALL the Summons rolled into one little Mateira. Takes one slot and all. It's the best Mateira (MY opinion).

ah-ha!

I knew they had names.

I really should read my strategy guild more often

I prefer Master Spell materia, myself. Coupled with Added Effect in your armor makes you immune to everything. Though it is a double-edged sword because you also aren't effected by the "good" status effects like Haste and such.

Hate to break it to you but they're lying.
It's not the lunar harp. It's the earth harp. Odin was right.

But all the other info was right ^_^V

i just re-beat ff7 again. I'm kinda bored now. I have everything; all mastered materia, all mastered levels, all limits, all weapons, chocobo with a speed of 171 ( i woner what the highest is) and loads of hidden items. See ya!

btw the lunar harp is whats needed to wake the sleeping forest.

Hmm who lied...I cant see anyone disproving what Odin said....

Earth harp -> defeat Emerald Weapon -> give to Kalm Traveller -> recieve 3 Master Materia's

Luna Harp -> dig up at bone village -> awakens sleeping forest

Just to clarify, if anyone was still confused ^_^

Good point. Master materia is never required to finish the game. But when you conquer the powerful(the weapon monsters), your characters become more overpowering themselves too. But you're right, that's not required either. I guess it's just there for those who just get sick of beating the game doing the same things through the game, they like to try something new like how people invent new ways of playing.
