Because it's the only one I've played for a significant amount of time. Lol.

I am by no means an MMO fan, and generally I'd rather eat a crushed glass and rusted razor blade sandwich than play one.

However, in the spirit of this thread, I will say that if I did ever have the urge to play one, it'd probably be Granado Espada. If I'm going to be bored to tears doing fetch quests and grinding, I at least want to be well dressed!

Seriously, that game's asthetic really appeals to me - I just can't develop any love for MMOs at all. I slogged through Dragon Age: Inquisition (which is basically an MMO-lite in disguise), and that was gruelling enough. Espada at least looks cool as hell and is proof that what this industry really needs is more games that don't conform to the Fantasy/Sci-Fi/Modern Day sterotypes.

Well I'll be biased and say, FFXIV.

As far as continuing to play it goes, I have to admit that I'm not playing as much as I ought (if I'm paying for it) and then there's the need to get into a FC (effectively a guild) and play through the latter half of the game. I managed to play through to the end of the main storyline (not including the patches, which add a whole lot of main story content) you see the game credits and list of everyone involved, and so it feels like you've finished. I guess (can't be certain) but i would have played it 100 hours in 2 months and that was how long it took to get one character through to the credits (i am level 50, which is the cap now)

If you find some friends and join a FC then you can be assured that even if you start new you'll get through it. Atleast that's my story (I haven't played MMOs before, save for WoW, but only got to level 30)

The thing i like about the whole experience is achievements and suiting your character out in the best stuff. Bosses are push overs in some respects if you have good gear (this doesn't apply to later end-game stuff though)

I don't think I'll be able to foot the expense of buying a new computer so I can play it again (I'm moving in to a new flat soon, and the computer I use is my parents)

So i've enjoyed the final fantasy elements (i haven't seen tonberries yet, but apparently they make an appearance)

FFXIV is pretty much my favourite MMO too (well, ARR anyway - 1.0 was... less than satisfactory). I admit I haven't been in game much lately though due to real life getting in the way. But importantly I enjoy it more than I have any other MMO. And I feel I've accomplished far more in the year and a half FFXIV ARR has been active than I did in a decade of playing FFXI. Which is really saying something. ;)

They do - they're the main enemies faced inside the level 50 Wanderer's Palace dungeon, and also play a major antagonistic role in the SCH Job quest line. I could say more about what they really are, but that would spoil the surprise. ;)

And yes, they're fittingly nasty little buggers to fight (You'll soon learn fear when you see a Tonberry Stalker loom through the gloom and inch ever closer to you ;)).

Final Fantasy XIV A Realm Reborn. I like the story and the branching story arcs, as well as being able to play multiple classes on one character, instead of being locked into one role from the start like in many other MMO's.
