Can't wait to hear that whole symphony.

Let us hope this film performs better at the box office than Speed Racer or Cloud Atlas. To be honest, and to paraphrase another movie dealing with galactic empires, I have a bad feeling Jupiter Ascending will be Jupiter Descending. I think people will sit this one out and wait for December's release of Star Wars.

Speed Racer had its fans from the original series.
I liked it well enough. Giacchino really made it worth while. The flashy graphics in it were pretty fun, too.
But, the story, could use a hell of a lot more work than Matrix Revolutions ever had.

I could not stand the way they speak talk say in Cloud Atlas.
My stoner days are over so just felt mocked.
I honestly don't remember how that movie ended.

This one looks like it could be really good. The trailers make it look so so good.
It's got Mila Kunis for christs sake. She'll draw in a lot of people. She was about the only likeable thing in Ted.

I watched the trailer in 2D and 3D, and the 3D definitely stands out way more than the 2D presentation.

Even if the film doesnt' succeed, like Cloud Atlas, it'll go as a cult film if it's good, and the music is just gorgeous so if thefilm's bad, this won't be.

Honestly, the movie looks terrible. Like utter and complete shit. Everytime I see the TV spots and they show Eddie Redmayne's charcater....ugh. He speaks like he's gasping for air. The movie just looks so bad.

Got a good laugh out of it when i saw him in the trailers.

Cheap rehash on some characters, typical dystopian council leaders ruling the world, Channing Tatum as a puppy, and Mila Kunis.

I liked most of Cloud Atlas, loved certain parts - the 70's vignette was nicely done as was future Seoul - was meh on segment concerning the scofflaw editor and his nursing home escapades. But I give the brothers or rather brother and sister credit for trying something a little different with that film. Taking chances, especially with movies in these days of sequels, prequels and franchises, should be rewarded.

I hope the tepid reaction to Cloud Atlas didn't make the Wachowskis retreat to safer cinematic ground, a storyline the public can grasp easily. (At the end of Cloud Atlas a fellow sitting a few seats over said rather loudly, "I didn't get it.")

DAK is right: Transformers is no Citizen Kane but it is a license to print money. It's sad to think that if movies like Citizen Kane, The Godfather, or Chinatown were released today they'd all flop.

Back in those days, times were rough and money wasn't great.

The people needed movies to get through the times.

Today, generations are spoiled with Mac and newest Android updates.

Even with the worst things going on in today's world, we still have an economy.
We have no need for another Citizen Kane.

Today, we're doing pretty damn well Keeping Up With The Kardashians.

I think Cloud Atlas was a masterpiece.... and much like Blade Runner was panned back in 1982....it will eventually be recognized as a wonderful, bold cinematic event.

And to judge a film by its trailer is nonsense. If the series of brief images do not tease your brain then don't see the film. What you do not see, you can not pass comment upon.

As far as Giacchino is concerned... his work has left me cold, short of moments in John Carter. He did a spiffy tribute at rearranging Alexander Courage's original Star Trek theme into the end credits for the last two Star Trek films... but the music for said films is not really very interesting.

Yeah, cutting a trailer is tricky. How much do you show, what surprises do you hide, can you get the core of the film out there without spoiling it. The problem with the Jupiter Ascending is it looks like your typical space opera. Hell, Mila Kunis looks like Amidala in one of the money shots and I don't think anyone wants a comparison with the last Star Wars trilogy.
