Anima's actually fairly easy, just use Quick hits. As long as you have Auto-Phoenix on your armours you should be fine. You might find Auto-Haste useful too as it gives you more turns. Just summon an Aeon to block Oblivion.

I also killed him with Yojimbos "Zanmato".

The good thing about it is, if you don't like the weapon you get after the battle, you can make a restart and try it again.

I had to do it a few times, because I didn't like the most stuff I got. ;)

If you went through the battle without "Zanmato", and the weapon you'll get after that is suck, you probably don't feel like restarting the game again. :(

I've the Aeons with and without Zanmato (for the exception of penance). Have speed. Hit hard, and have auto phoenix/life. Auto haste helpstoo. I haven't played it in a while, so I can't quite remember what I did to beat Anima.

But if you feel like you want the easy way, then Zanmato is the way to go.

You don't really get that sense of accomplishment if you use Zanmato. If you're just after equipment, just continuouslly fight Dark Yojimbo.

Zanmato means the enemy dies isn't that good enough for you

Well sure, if wanting the enemy dead is all one wanted. But anyone can just throw their money away for Zanmato, the whole point of having tough bosses becomes pointless. I doubt they were added in the game just so people could Zanmato their way to ribbons and dark matters.

You can really build up your characters and once your almost invincible, it's nice to have a good challenge.

hmmmm zanmato sounds pretty cheap to me i think that using zanmato is the same as cheating but thats my opinion....think i will to level up some more and try to kick his ass

No, I'm not just after eqipment. I'm just saying so. If you fight Dark Anima with Zanmato (or others), it is easier to do it again, if the eqipment you get is suck.

I know the sense of accomplishment very well, and I use it if I can't beat the Dark Aeons without Zanmato, or if it takes too long. My characters are not on their max stats, and I won't go for it, either. Zanmato is just going to help me out beating some of the Dark Aeons.

And I killed Dark Yojimbo without Zanmato, just for information. And I didn't do it continouslly just for getting more special equipment. I wouldn't need it anyway.

Well obviously you can choose to fight them however you want, I just find that using Zanmato makes it quite pointless for having such bosses there. For me, I don't see them as something I need to get past to get something I want. I see the actual fight as something I want to get through.

As for equipment, all I can say is that if you beat a Dark Aeon normally and the equipment sucks, then reset and use Zanmato if you want. But you'd only do that if you were really after the equipment, and for that I'd say just fight Dark Yojimbo. You did say that you restarted a few times since you didn't like the equipment you received.

Yes, usually the actual fight is someting I want to get through, too. But I also like to play with my enemys sometimes.

And yes, in the case of Black Anima I restarted the game a few times. There was no need to, but I wanted to see, if I get another good equipment for somebody who hasn't a good one yet..... Like I said, it is more a playing around. Nothing I needed to do.

The thing is, I wanted to beat everything in the game. All I did, was using Zanmato once a while, that's it. And playing around a bit at the end (Dark Anima was my last Dark Aeon, that's why I did that)

Call myself crazy or stupid now, I can live with it. ;)

Correct me if Im wrong but, Isn't there a bigger chance of getting Armours with Ribbon and usefull stuff if you Overkill the Dark Aeons? I meen Zanmato does never overkill any enemy which used upon?

Not sure about reviving this, but anyway, overkilling just doubles the amount of items you get. It doesn't affect the chances of getting armours with Ribbon or anything.
