I did this a few months back for the BioMedia Project's 2.1 music archive. Not sure if anyone here is interested, but I thought I'd post it anyway.

Each soundtrack is roughly forty-fifty minutes. Yes, there are sound effects, but I strove to not include any material that contained dialogue. Its all still quite listenable; you just have to ignore some of the more prominent SFX.

Not all of it is from the DVD; the WayBack Machine preserved Fursts old website, as well as the BIONICLE audio cues hed stored on there. Furst also posted a couple tracks on his SoundCloud. All the other music has never been released online or in stores, so a DVDrip is the best anyone can do. As far as I know I'm the first to do this.

This is encoded at MP3 VBR-0; the artwork is by my good buddy Vakhiti. Enjoy!

Tracklistings:
Mask of Light
(http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?i=6192942)Legends of Metru Nui ()
Web of Shadows

It can be downloaded at the BMP's website (http://biomediaproject.com/bmp/music/) under "Movie Music".

I heard Nathan lost these in a HD crash.

A fellow Bionicle fan mentioned the same thing recently, though narrowed it down to saying he'd lost Legends of Metru Nui (the second one) in a HD crash. I haven't found the source of where Furst said anything about a crash, though.

If you're interested, he recently uploaded (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rz3yfFpG7o8) a new piece from Mask of Light, and I really hope he makes an effort to get other bits of Bionicle music he might still have out into the open. I bet Lego and/or Miramax still have the music files, though (I hope!)

I am friends with him and asked if he could look for the Bionicle music (this was back in January) and he (I guess?) must have found some music. I asked him if he found them and he ignored me, so I don't know lol.

I think he uploaded that Bionicle music - as well as a new piano video - in response to an impressive fan cover (http://www.bzpower.com/board/topic/16687-nathan-furst-mask-of-light-my-cover/#entry861738) of his Bionicle theme. Maybe you sort of prodded him into finding it in the first place.

I know I lost LOMN in a bad drive crash...."

He also mentioned on YouTube (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DC_2VWV4pnI&feature=youtu.be) that he wouldn't be able to upload the full scores to other films publicly:

"Thank you all for the kind words. I'm glad you all enjoy it. Of course I still care about Bionicle. It's really the first full score I ever composed in an autonomous way, when I was 23 years old. Most of the score will not be released, for several reasons. However, I was able to find something from MOL I'll post later today. ;)"

Hey look! Furst released another small bit of Bionicle music (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gzwH5_u4l64&feature=youtu.be).

It's from Legends of Metru Nui... the same LoMN he said he lost in a HDD crash. Weird.

Maybe he found 'em somewhere else. I'm not complaining, though!

In this recent interview with TTV Channel, Nathan lost most of Legends of Metru Nui in that aforementioned hard drive crash, but he still has all of Mask of Light

For those who don't want to read that whole transcript for pertinent info:

Jon: I remember at some point you were talking about releasing the soundtracks from those movies? Is that a conversation?

Nathan: I still want to do that, but it took a couple turns where it ended up being more of a hassle than it was worth and it’s been put on the backburner. I still love the idea because I’m so emotionally invested in a lot of that music, it means a lot to me… so I would like to record it and release it, and I feel like I could do more with it than budget or time permitted at that moment. What I may end up doing, alternatively is… initially I was concerned about legal things, and some of the music I actually lost because I had a huge crash some years ago that hurt both the present hard drives and also my backups. So I lost most of the score to Legends of Metru Nui, I don’t even have it anymore. It taught me a valuable lesson about backing up properly.

Meso: We’re no stranger to massive data loss!

Nathan: At the time I had this massive crash you had to be really diligent and organized and I’m neither of those things! Anyway, at this point, I’ve started to put the music that exists out there. I know I have all the original Mask of Light score. I may just upload it all at some point!

Jon: Here’s hoping! As someone who really enjoyed that score, it would be nice. We’ll see what happens.

At this point I think dumping it all on YouTube or Soundcloud is best... I understand that he wants to clean the sound up, but he's likely never going to have the time to do that, and his mastery of making samples sound realistic already makes the score shine in its present state. You can listen to other scores from that time using sample technology and few things come close to what Furst did in 2003.

The score? It's impressive for a goofy DTV toy film.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wChDViZOaG8

On a technical level I think it's just incredible. Just about everything is made via samples, and keep in mind that this is fuckin' 2003: the technology was still young. He had a great talent for making the samples sound lifelike and from real instruments.
