75 cues, 2 hours and 28 minutes.
44.1 KHz, 24-bit Flac.

This is missing a few cues on scorepranos' original post, but I am guessing because those cues weren't available in 24-bit. You can add them to this release if you want, but I did not because this is purely all 24-bit, and I wanted to give you guys a really nice Christmas present. Really hoping this will entice Sonic to do a deluxe of this score, since it is my favorite of the 4. If you want to know the source, Santa sent it to me. He was feeling really generous today :)

I have a badass sound system and I don't really hear a difference between 16-bit and 24-bit. I know 24-bit is considered DVD quality but I just don't hear
the difference when it comes to music.

I don't think so, nor do I think they can detect the difference between 48 & 96kHz, which is why I stopped ripping at that level. I've read the human ear can only hear up to about 20kHz. I'm gonna download this anyway and see if I can hear a difference.

That's what I figured. I guess studios just want to use 24-bit so that they can push the "superior audio quality" selling point of Blu-rays.

This is a list of the missing cues, which you can find in the 83 track leak.

1m4, 2m7, 5m39A, 5m42, 7m51, Cwejman CD, Iridescent (Linkin Park), Sentinel, and The Dark

---------- Post added at 12:43 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:40 PM ----------

9m67a and b were lossy on the Original Sessions, can anyone confirm that they are true lossless now?

---------- Post added at 12:55 PM ---------- Previous post was at 12:43 PM ----------

I also have TF1 and TF2 in 24-bit as well, if this gets enough replies, well, expect them. But, if this doesn't really get a lot of attention, then there won't be a need to post the other ones..as they are very large.

4m51-52 Arrival to Earth is sadly not included on the set, because it doesn't exist in any bootlegs...therefore it is not available in 24-bit.

DICEY69

Ya, and 48kHz VS 96kHz?

it depends what and how You'd listen to
with acoustic slow melodies the vibration are palpable, You know it's like with smells, colors, breathing, seeing in darkness, differs greatly, very individual; no way to measure it in laboratory, experiences like sex, diving, freezing, massage, etc are LIVING thing, impossible to ""adjust" it a priori. Take for instance headphones, You need time to evaluate them; sometimes contrasting experiences are needed to cherish the difference...

That's what most 'sessions' or 'bootlegs' are like, but it seems most have been edited to remove the silences before they leak on the Shrine, which I guess is pretty nice of them.

Thanks for the post and for the reposting of the two bad files. Yes, 24-bits gives a more accurate representation of the music that was recorded, but admittedly it sometimes can be a subtle improvement. I remember a reviewer in Stereophile said that with 24-bits, "there is more there there."

Higher bit depths allow for more noise floor and headroom when doing any editing.

If scorepranos can't tell a difference between these versions and the previous versions, then it's likely these are:
1) a different output of the real masters out there of the sessions (the real ones could be 32 float / 96 kHz, for studio mastering purposes only; which were used to create this 24/48 version and the 16/44.1 version)
2) upscaled

regarding checking if it's an upscale, you can use flac.exe to check for "wasted_bits" (requires you to know what you're doing and not ask what to do).
flac.exe will check each sample of any given FLAC file and look for any wasted bits. It will summurize what the average bit depth is.
You can also get it save a log file and examine it yourself and read the comprehensive details (which also require you to know what you're reading).

I looked at one frequency map of this with SoX and there's a noiseless line going through at the 22kHz mark.
I'll have to check more files to be sure it's not limited to just the one track I looked at.

I also have to dig out my batch script for checking the bit depth for wasted_bits.

You can read up on higher bit depth, and how much more Signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) it allows in terms of decibles.
But that only matters when you're in the studio with all the original assets for any given work.
The studios have uncompressed (as in dynamic range compression) assets that they can master for listening scenarios.
There should be some differences made between the two, in terms of loudness and dynamic compression, since if the 24/48 was created from higher-res studio assets, they could change the drc to suite 24bit much more than they would the 16bit.
But that depends who's the one mastering to 24/48 and 16/44.1.
They could have just used a preset for all versions.

Having 24/48 for us is more so that we can do our own edits with them and get more accuracy in any volume or anything regarding dynamic compression.
Higher frequencies will give more accurate results for other edits.

Really hoping this will entice Sonic to do a deluxe of this score, since it is my favorite of the 4.

Dont wait for it, dear, It wont happen. I have seen all movies (and Ive been bored by all of them with the exception of the first one) but one thing has always been crystal clear for me: I dont like the music. Its generic stuff, lacking anything that might interest me. So I havent listened to the scores, never downloaded them, never bought them. And I wont start now that most of them are available in 24 bit. Crappy music still is crappy music, even if its in 24 bit.

BUT: I thank you very much for offering people these releases. It should happen more often, just with other scores^^
