That other thread is a trainwreck of excuses for piss poor work, so here's Xrd -SIGN- recorded directly from in game, with those clean files of Sin, Guns n Roses chick, title screen and character select from that other guy.

MP3's at 320 kb. I don't believe in FLAC.

Guilty Gear Xrd -Sign- (http://www.mediafire.com/download/h7o4bzyb2pvzbld/Guilty_Gear_Xrd_-Sign-.rar)

All character themes, versus themes. Ride the Fire can be found on the Vocal Collection album.

At the beginning of gaggle of songs, there's a slight skip right at the beginning. My mistake, I'm no pro at this, but a split second skip for quality files is far better than anything found in that previous thread and I really don't want to go back and fix something that will be obsolete once the actual soundtrack album comes out.

Thank Daisuke Ishiwatari and his musicians for all their work.

EDIT: Forgot "High Voltage", the training theme. Life goes on.

That sounds fantastic. Thank you so much. They're a little quiet, but that doesn't matter too much. I guess you can't help not having Leo's theme either, since that can't be heard in-game yet.

I don't understand why you feel the need to insult other people when you're completely oblivious to the fact that 80kbps source material recorded and encoded to 320kbps doesn't magically increase the quality.

...Which proves my point from the other thread. If it's low volume, you won't notice the distortions. Put it on full blast, and distortions galore.

However, if you turn up your individual volume for these, the drums don't sound like they're being played in a bag.

Perhaps the insulting wasn't called for, but this recording is simply a much higher quality version, no doubt about it. The rip in the other one was of direct game files, but those game files probably weren't the only place where the game's audio data came from, thus the lower bitrates. If you listen to this, you'll know this isn't just a 320kb/s reprint of a 96kb/s source material, this is a 320kb/s recording of some great sounding music, and probably the best we'll get until they release an actual CD.

Apparently, the Xrd official soundtrack was released yesterday. GUILTY GEAR Xrd -SIGN- Soundtrack - VGMdb (http://vgmdb.com/album/48145) Where's the tracklist, database?

EDIT: Oh, wait, I just read that the OST's actually coming out in January. VGMdb, you LIED to me!!

Yeah, I think that's just the western version of the Vocal Collection. It just hasn't been updated on VGMdb yet.

There is no other place where the game's audio data is at. Like, really. I've been going through the files myself and have extracted literally everything ranging from character voices, system voices/sounds, UI assets and other stuff.

The only BGMs available in-game are 80kbps, period. If you want me to show you the whole extraction process from beginning to end to clear up any doubts, let me know.

EDIT: Lemme just do that anyway.

All game assets except some shaders and the video files are in this huge container.

Extracted, we get a bunch of files starting with the following prefixes:

- ADV_ (arcade mode files, I think)
- BGM_ (straightforward)
- DRAMA_ (story mode)
- AXL, BED, CHP, ELP, FAU, INO, KYK, MAY, MLL, POT, RAM, SIN, SLY, SOL, VEN and ZAT (character voices and data/models)
- Other misc small files pertaining to UI and other game assets which are completely irrelevant

See the whole file list here: http://pastebin.com/TDwfq1KC

One of the BGM .xxx files (unreal engine archive) extracted:

As you can see it has looping information and other track data. But it's straightforward that only one file could be the actual music, which is the SoundNodeWave. Now, this file is already ready to be played by any media player without changing extensions or extracting/decrypting/whatever.

Drop that file in MediaInfo, and what do we see?

80kbps.

Look, I for one appreciate your enthusiasm, and it's irrefutable that what you have produced is an MP3 file rip, but the proof is in the pudding, give this guy's recording a listen and you'll find that there is added detail in it, and that added detail in sound quality does not come magically from the aether. I'm not claiming to be an expert on the distribution of data clusters within the PS3/PS4 disc format, but my comment was merely voicing a hypothesis that there was additional raw data contained on the disc where this added bit rate must have come from, not that those MP3's weren't actually MP3's. I apologize for any conveyed disrespect my comment caused you, and I hope we can eventually get around to discussing how kick-ass this soundtrack is.

I own the PS3 version of the game LEGALLY, but it's the, you know, PSN version. I also tried recording and listening on a full blast, and the quality was the same (meaning shit) in my game as in my rip.
I also ripped assets from the disc version AND the PSN one after I had my initial doubts about everything.
They both possess the same crap quality audio.

Considering that these are of better quality, as I just gave them a listen, I conclude they are from either disc or PSN version of the PS4 one.

Also, screw you OP. I did what I could you ass, which is rip directly from what is currently possible to be ripped. It's fine if you dislike the result, believe me, I do too... but I will not have you fucking insult me. Because I'm an individual on the internet who has a cartoon robot avatar and because internet is serious business.

Oh yeah, thanks for the upload by the way. It's lovely. : >

Hear, hear. Less bitching about sound quality, more celebrating Ishiwatari. This'll all be pointless once the official soundtrack comes out anyway.
I think the sound quality is better in the PS4 version, though, and that's what's going on. I won't be buying the game for a while then, myself, since I only have a PS3.

True enough. I apologize.
Well, regardless... I wish someone would undertake to rip the new story mode BGM from the game. As in, the non-GG2 stuff. I really enjoy some of those pieces, even if they are mostly more on the orchestral/"epic" music side.
