I havent started playing this yet, as i am still playing FFIX and FFV, but if there are 40 or so characters, how the heck do you determine which is best? Or is it like you use them all at different times?

This is my all-time favorite game. Now, I do agree its kinda hard to pic the correct characters - but you can see the stat's of the characters by using the item 'Tele-porter' (you get it in the beginning).

I used Serge, Groybic, and... (Possibly Kid), although I forgot. Im actually replaying the game now - its a great experience.

It disn't really matter to me which characters I used. I usually just pick a team of characters I like. I usually use team composed of characters like Serge, Glenn, Leena, Macha, Mel, and Pip just because they are my favorites.

most of the characters are usless and pointless...they're just kinda there, not much character developement or anything with most of them. cool game n all, but a big dissapoinment

The character development isnt even because it's focused on the main characters of course, but CC is still a fantastic game. And its music, imo, is the best square has ever made. As for the characters, I often use Viper, Glenn, Serge, Fargo, Grobyc and Steena. My favorites ^_^

It's a fun game but the only real character development is between the main character and Kidd.
The other characters mostly just get you even more characters.
It's fun being able to go back through the game and get even more characters though.
That was probably my favorite feature.

That is true because I can't resist Kidd even if I tried when I get into character with Serge. Shes just to sexy!!!

Chrono Chross may be the best well thought game ever! However this game can really get on your nerves when you have to talk to the same person you just talked to in order to talk to a dude you already talked to in order to activate a scene inwhich brings you straight back to talking to the same people. Not to mention The fact that if you have someone join your party to quick and save the game your automatically screwed. Though I like the whole element thing and the custom frame was kool too.
PS: My party is usually the one who cant walk straight because I'm to cheap to buy some medicine for the flu! I tell you if you can play the game good enough the flu is only a minor inconvienence!!!

Thats true to an extent. Although, there are many many quests were you need specific characters in your party and such to complete.

There are MAIN characters though, opposed to small characters (Like FunGuy =)). Also, if you guys didnt know

Kid is only 8 years old you child molesters! =)

You can have all the characters in one game. But to do so, you must be in a New Game Plus game. And, when you play that game, don't do the same actions as your first game, so you get characters that you didn't got in the other game. Then, at a certain point in the game, you can enter the ''pictures world'' (the one when Serge was tranformed into Lynx), and touch the water spring in the dwarf room. If you have the Chrono Cross, you can use it to have all the characters that you had got in your other games in addition to the ones you already have, so you can have all the characters in that game!

I loved Chrono Cross. I thought it was a fabulous game. I agree with Huntress Krystle about the music, too. It is very good. And aside from Serge and Kid, there are alot of characters that go through a whole lot of changes. Fargo, Doc, Glenn, and the dude with the huge axe and the little girl in the pink dress. They're all main characters. Oh, and Orcha, the scrawny kid. They all play a big part in the game. Not to mention Lynx. That game rocks faces.
