I figured I'd share what I've done for myself, to keep my unreleased FFXIV tracks more organized. I'm going to be up front about what I've done here, to spare any issues I've seen in the past over missing proper tags/rushing to release and having spelling inconsistencies etc. Here is a list of what you can expect from this release:

1) All NEW tracks from 2.2 through 2.4 are here, repeats from actual album releases have been deleted.
2) Several tracks have been altered SLIGHTLY in later patches, these were left in this rip (Tam Tara Deepcroft (Hard) for instance. A creepy extension was added before the loop, the track is otherwise identical to "Slumber Disturbed" on the OST).
3) This includes the extension of the Pharos Sirius music, included in the 2.3 section of music since it was added during 2.38 (or somewhere close to that) hotfixes.
4) Unreleased tracks that have confirmed names are named properly, however for my own uses i have added various additions to them. (Example, for "Through the Maelstrom", I named it "Through the Maelstrom ~Leviathan Phase 2~". This is for my benefit only. Change it if you want. I know what the correct titles are and I don't need anyone "helping" me with inconsistencies. The exception to this is the new iterations of "Primal Timbre". I just gave them their instance names, since we don't know if they will be renamed on the next album release. )
5) Tracks that we do NOT have official track names for, I have a habit of just naming them after the quest name they appear under. (Shiva phase 1 for example I named "The Instruments of Our Deliverance ~Shiva Phase 1~" It is rumored that this track will be titled "Dreams of Ice" but that is not official yet.)
6) All tracks are in 256kbps CBR. I have no intention of reripping to change this, even though I'm fairly certain this is the max quality we can get for now based on the bitrate of the ogg files in the game's data. The exception is one of the Carteneau Flats tracks. I royally screwed up combining the layers from this track, so a friend sent me his combination, done in 128kbps. If anyone has a better version of this one PLEASE share! :)
7) HUGE GIANT MAJOR spoilers in one track name. (Not that huge, just one boss name is revealed, but if you want COMPLETE spoiler free music, let me know and I will upload a version with those tracks renamed, but I figure by this point anyone who REALLY cares already knows what this boss is)

I think that covers everything. I hope this didn't come off as shitty, I really just wanted to make sure I could please as many people as possible, while being as clear as I can with what is here, and what ISN'T here! :)

Thanks for this (as always) Darkraven. :D

Just one slight issue though - I've noticed there is an omission, in the form of the BGM for this year's Hatchingtide seasonal event (the cute J-pop track that played in the vicinity of the event quest NPCs in each city during Easter this year). This track was completely different to the original Hatchingtide track from version 1.0 (The Hero of Hatchingtide by Nobuo Uematsu, which was just a chiptune arrangement of the Prelude).

Other than that, I think you pretty much included all new tracks up to the 2.4 patch that aren't already on the official ARR OSTs, Before Meteor, or one of the earlier 1.0 albums. Good job, and thank you again! :D

I have no idea how I missed that one. It WAS in my rip in earlier uploads. I wonder what I did with it......Do you have an mp3 of it that I could add to my collection? I probably wont update the whole thing just for the one track but I am REALLY confused on why I deleted it! Thanks for letting me know!

EDIT: Dug back into the game data and found it much faster than I thought I would. You are talking about this one right? https://mega.co.nz/#!RUQW0DTY!Kc9Edt4e2FoePEOfWs7Nl3xAOZHgjYVZX7972He uSjs

Thank you for the music, it really has some wonderful counterparts, such as the almost steely version of Fat Chocobo, to the moon-like theme of Syrcus Tower. I didn't totally get Lord of the whorl though. Maybe it's because I haven't played the raids yet. In general I loved the Syrcus Tower tracks, and the Ramuh theme, there's some real interesting melodies there.

Besides the Easter music, there's a few other tracks missing. There's an oriental sounding track that I think was used for a seasonal event (I had to unsubscribe due to various reasons before this was added, so I can't personally verify), a sad-sounding track, a fast-paced track, and the Decisive Battle track used for Ultros. I'm not good at describing music, but if you can't identify the tracks and you'd like to add them to a future rip, I can upload my copies of the tracks somewhere.

Haha, yes, that's the one. I have a personal rip of that track I made myself, but as I format shifted it directly from the game itself and didn't pull it out of the game files, it's slightly abridged at the start (it opens with that 'fwip' sound effect. But that is definitely the track.

Do you know where I can get the dungeon boss battle and final boss battle music? Like in Halatali Hard Mode?

Those tracks are available on the official soundtrack albums (the dungeon boss battle theme is called A Fine Death by Masayoshi Soken, and the final dungeon boss theme is called Nemesis by Nobuo Uematsu. The Halatali Hard Mode dungeon theme is called Beneath Bloodied Banners, also by Nobuo Uematsu. A Fine Death can be found on the official FFXIV A Realm Reborn OST bluray album, and the two Uematsu tracks can be found on the Before Meteor bluray album. Hence why Darkraven didn't include these tracks in this download - only unreleased tracks are included here.

That oriental theme I think was a special track only included in the new Chinese client (the Chinese FFXIV client uses it's own separate servers), and thus that track has never appeared anywhere in the English language or Japanese versions of the game sadly. I'm not sure about the other tracks, but the 'Decisive Battle' track is indeed Nobuo Uematsu's The Decisive Battle from FFVI which indeed was used for Ultros's battle (which is easily found on the FFVI OST naturally). Those two remaining tracks though, your guess is as good as mine Jonah.

I have the OST soundtrack, I can find A Fine Death and Nemesis in there, but the battle themes used in Halatali Hard Mode aren't there. However I think the battle theme for Halatali Hard Mode, like you say, is on the Before Meteor soundtrack but it sounds different (check here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gtJCPZF2Y7Y)). About halfway through the theme completely changes into something that wasn't used in ARR. Beneath Blooded Banners sounds fine though.

Ah, the only track on that video is the old Mor Dhona battle theme from version 1.0 Phantoms on the Lake by Nobuo Uematsu (which is on Before Meteor), and it doesn't change to another theme - halfway along at about 1.18 the track changes style, but it's still the same track I assure you. ;)

Either way, the track you're after is Phantoms on the Lake.

Hello, and thanks for the awesome rips. Do any of you all have a working link to the rest of the game OST prior to 2.2? I've searched some threads but it would seem a lot of the links have been taken down. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Can you upload those last tracks we haven't identified Jonah? Just the sad and fast paced ones. I want to cross reference them with my game data and see what they are. Enkidoh is correct about the others. The oriental one is indeed part of the Chinese game client. I should probably add that one in at some point, but as it wasn't part of a patch data update, it doesn't belong here.

Jonah would have to clarify this, but after going back through my files I now believe they were both tracks from the 2.3 patch, and thus were on that specific rip, labelled as 'BGM_Event_Gendaishi' and 'BGM_Event_Sad2'. These two tracks I think were used in certain 2.3 story cutscenes, but I'm not sure about anything more. Either way, Jonah will be able to confirm this.

Well, you never know. There was an OST+ for FFXI called "Unreleased Tracks" because the tracks were previously unreleased...but in this case, the only tracks from 2.2 onwards to be officially released is the Clash on the Big Bridge's ARR remix (On the ARR OST as a secret track) and the extended Pharos Sirius "Through the Gloom" theme (on one of the Square Enix sampler CDs, I think it was #9).

There's also some unreleased tracks from the original XIV that were not on the Before Meteor OST (The beta version of The Dark's Embrace, one of the 1.0 Monk job quest songs, the Dalamud refrain of Answers (which was itself remixed into the track titled in this rip as "The Rising", and the opening title screen demo theme), and various tracks used in trailers (A non-looping version of the FFII battle theme remix, a remix of Terra's theme, and various other trailer themes among them), and the chiptune arrangement of Under the Weight (used here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uDg44MVJLrw), though I don't know if it or the chiptune themes used for the similar Lightning Saga video made as a promotion for Lightning Returns will ever be officially released).)

ill upload it once I log off FF14 tonight. I havent tagged it or anything yet. Ill release it as an addon to this collection in the next few days but I can get you the music rip itself tonight?

EDIT: https://mega.co.nz/#!JU4iHaQA!KeOL18M7pot1rruHHShXIf83VzcpQgFHJecMtxl ubio

Remember, this is untagged! I just ripped it from the game, and converted the ogg to mp3. bitrate is matched to the ogg's comparable rate. There ARE preliminary tags on these but the filenames still go by the game data reference numbers. Not even CLOSE to finished, but this is it! (Missing repeat themes, such as the FF5 gilgamesh battle theme, Odins battle theme, etc)

EDITEDIT: I KNEW I was missing SOMETHING, but I couldn't pinpoint it! This is missing the battle layer of the World of Darkness theme. Ill have that one in the final updated release of the rip. I'm actually working on it all right now so Ill update all the links tomorrow!

Here is the updated music. Its a direct addon to my other rip. Just copy these files in with it and the track numbers pick up where it left off. I left out track 33 because I cant find that battle layer in the game data? Which is odd, because someone already uploaded a game data rip of that one on soundcloud. Id just use that rip but they added so much gain to it it clips constantly! Once I find and tag that track ill upload it separately. Ill also update the op link to a full rip complete up to 2.5 for any future people who find this thread.

Soken said in the last Q/A that they were looking to attempt to release the rest of the 2.0 era music before the expansion comes out, so we may not have to wait much longer for these to be replaced by an official copy! After fan feedback they booked 3 full days of CD mastering time at their studio at the beginning of the year, so here's hoping! Check the spoiler tag to see the question relating to this!

Q: I'd like to listen to the Snowcloak music in high definition. When are you planning to release another soundtrack?
A: But we JUST released a new album…! We don’t have any soundtrack plans at the moment, but we’ll do our best to release an album before the expansion. We had a feeling something like this might happen, so at the start of the year we booked three days at a studio that handles soundtrack recording.

Because of a conversion issue on my end (I'm not really sure if it's my PC or something SE changed) I can't edit in a fadeout without getting errors and corrupting the header. When I go to fix the header, the songs end up with 10+ minutes of silence. I reripped a 2.5 track and an older track and tested fading out each of them. On the freshly ripped files, the old ones added the fadeout just fine, and these new ones didn't. So something is up either with SEs encoding of the 2.5 tracks or my own system is messing with them. I don't really have the free time currently to diagnose the issue :/

TL;DR: I can't. Issues prevent me from doing so, and I don't have the time to track the issues down.

Any chance of 2.55? I've only heard 3 or 4 new themes (The remix of Terra's Theme from the Magitek mount trailer, which now plays in-game when using a Magitek mount; the other new themes are the ones from the new trial "The Steps of Faith", and I think that's either 2 or 3 themes. Couldn't quite tell, and I'm in no hurry to do the trial again and find out.)

I am looking into how to do this myself (databases aren't updated and I haven't had time to look manually for the new files). In the 30 minutes I've been toying around with it, I did, however figure out why the World of Darkness battle mix on Soundclou sounded so horrid: the stereo channels weren't being separated, so some pretty detailed effects ended up coming out as a muddy mess. I've never uploaded stuff and can't guarantee that I ever will be able to, but I'll try my best! I'll probably go back and double-check that the previous tracks are getting proper stereo treatment as well, since I'm pretty nitpicky about details like that. (Edit: it seems it's only the multi-layered tracks that aren't stereo by default)

Bummer about that dropped subscription, darkravenx! I hope life settles down and get to you join us in Eorzea again sometime!

That's great Coasterguy11, yeah the raid music has a complicated setup of channels so some of the rips of it are bad, but I believe there's another thread on this forum that has it sorted out.

Getting the complete FF14 soundtrack has proved pretty tricky, I've had to find different sets of tracks from many different sources. There's no rip of the main 2.0 soundtrack on this forum right now, for example.

Coasterguy11

https://mega.co.nz/#!2BcGVDjI!oqcM-FRzSX_TF7P7cl0GmTq_SvAMfO7wQve8yPApGG0

I think one of the reasons you aren't seeing a full game rip here is because the devs are pretty actively against any non-official releases of the soundtrack. Even if you go to YouTube to look up individual tracks, you'll notice that players have to include actual in-game footage appropriate to the music. In fear of raising a flag here, I'd rather not assemble a full compilation of those files. (Moreover, I'm pretty sure the OST releases are higher quality than the compressed files issued with the game).

darkravenx
04-02-2015, 09:25 PM
Yeah they have people watching youtube and soundcloud and such waiting for these things to go up. They haven't bothered us here yet though. Im sure that will change eventually. For now though i havent had any issues with my uploads here, but as I am associated with some of the devs I'll be taking my rips down the moment a post 2.1 album release comes out. Yeah, I am a hypocrite when it comes to this but hopefully everyone understands. Also, the ogg files are what the source material is compressed in the data files, so thats the best we can really get in terms of a rip quality.

Thanks for getting the 2.55 stuff to us though Coasterguy!!
