a very strong score by Leonard Rosenman (orchestrated by Angelo Francesco Lavagnino) that punctuates the action well and is superbly effective during the highly atmospheric opening credits. - HorrorExpress.com (http://www.horrorexpress.com/moviereview/race-with-the-devil)

10 tracks, Duration - 12:19

This and Rosenman's "The Car" from 1977 would make for a damn fine double feature album.

A movie that is well worth your time. Oates and Fonda are convincing as two men's men who go rv'ing with their wives (Swit and Parker, also believable as the spouses) and see something in the woods they shouldn't have. No real supernatural elements in the film, it's actually more of a paranoid thriller: who's part of the conspiracy, who can these out-of-towners trust? Like Deliverance or Wicker Man it plays on the fear of outsiders stumbling into an isolated rural community and their rituals.

Sounds like a very interesting score. Love to hear it. Thanks! (How the heck did I get to be a Grand Shriner? I haven't even been here a year yet.)

Wow, there is some terrific Rosenman in those few short cuts. He really liked to use his music sparsely in his films, which maybe adds even more impact when it does show up. That last cut is particularly hair-raising. I'm surprised by this soundtrack. There's nothing that reminds me of Combat at all, and only a couple cuts that could have fit in to Fantastic Voyage. This is the very under-used Rosenman going in yet another direction. Much appreciated. Now I have to start lobbying someone for an official release. Thanks again!

I just watched "The Car" for first time, and found the music to be a trip; so strange to hear music I associate with hobbits to be coming from a car...

This one seems like it'll be fun as well. Thanks for the efforts, ribonucleic!
