Thank you for posting, I really love the soundtrack.

Only sad thing is that it is obvious that they've used Alexander Desplat's Extremely Loud Incredibly Close as a temp track in the film, and it has obviously influenced parts of the score. If you compare the track "Chalkboard" in this OST with "Piano Lessons With Grandma" from the Desplat score it is VERY obvious. You could call it plagiarism in fact. A fine soundtrack nonetheless.

Interesting post star_galaxy. I've been enjoying this score a lot, I knew it felt very Desplat-like however the extreme familiarity of some of the melodies were really strange. It would be interesting to do a track by track comparison, there is more than an instance of plagiarism at play here. This reminds me of Korzeniowski lifting from Mishima for W.E. Shame directors put them in this position because all are extremely talented composers. I wonder if there are deals behind the scene to credit original composers because sometimes the copying is so blatant, they don't even change the key, rhythm, chords or any of the melodies. If deals were made between publishers, it would explain why there are no lawsuits.

I doubt that there are deals done behind the scene to credit the original composer. Sometimes these things end up in court too such as was the case with Tyler Bates copying Elliot Goldenthal (and score of Titus) in 300.
