I think they picked audiomachine because music only plays during the loading screens/cutscenes in the campaign. So they just want trailer "hype" music and "emotional beat" music - you know where the actor says some sound bite and the music tells you what you're supposed to feel. Compared to earlier CoDs and Medal of Honors where you'd get badass themes playing while you were fighting, here you just get silence. The game is eerily devoid of music, I'm surprised you were able to scrounge enough music to make a release.

That's an interesting way of seeing it. Conversely, one could argue they were trying for the opposite effect for the actual gameplay - i.e. letting the action stand on its own without such musical assistance.

Thanks a lot. It is ridiculous what Activision has done to people who bought a Collector's Edition. They transcoded the lossy iTunes-release which we have here to lossy mp3-files with 160 kbps. I mean mp3-files with that bitrate are bad enough but transcoding a lossy audio file to a lossy one is just stupid. Everyone knows that you should not do that. It's really ridiculous that they used the itunes release and pulled that off instead of just giving us the m4a files and the booklet.

I really miss the days were CEs had real CDs in them and you could get lossless files. I guess we are never gonna get digital wav or flac files in a CE.

So yeah, thanks for sharing this. Keeps me from being really annoyed by Activision and Sledgehammer's audio engineers.
