Thank you salade64, it's very nice share!

On the music: the use of SFX/sounds of nature is somewhat usual for Zimmer nowdays (like in Rush or TASM-2). Can't really say it's that good for the sake of listening experience. But the music itself is very good. The organ is an interesting choice for RC-music, the atonal choir is expected but incredibly effective (in fact, that would be the third time we're hearing it in a major motion picture this year). Ostinatos are ostinatos, like it or not...

P.S.
With all my hype about this score, can't disagree with Zimmer about the release date. It's always better to listen to movie scores with an actual movie in your memory.

But I feel like 2 weeks later after the film, not saying film score lovers like us would forget, but most people who go to see the movie on opening day, etc would look for the soundtrack right after seeing the film, and forget about it two weeks later. That's what I think, caball. Does that make sense?

I see your point. But here's the thing: Hans Zimmer happens to be a star composer with an enormous fan-base and appreciation from peaple who usually can't tell the difference between Williams and Goldsmith. So, probably, HZ want to know how good he is known to the major audience. Or, he's really bored with his status of a promotional device. He was surprisingly quiet this whole time before premiere (as far as I know, though).

The score was fine. Wouldn't call it great, but had its memorable moments and nice themes, and absolutely, eerily quiet in some outer space scenes, so quiet you can hear the person next to you breathe. One thing I found odd was that the closing credits roller was short in this day and age of ten minute closing credits rolls. And I believe there was article over /slashfilm or somewhere about sound/audio complaints regarding the movie. This was evident a few times, but especially in the beginning, there's this humming buzz (buzzing hum) in the background, even when the score was playing, and then it abruptly stops during a change of scene. It also happens one more time later in the movie. It's very noticeable, and hard to fathom why quality control allowed it to happen, because it can't possibly be deliberate.

True not "ture."

Will not instead of "can not". And its cannot, it's compound word. And yes, it is true that we will not have a release until Nov. 17th.

Just saw the movie. It is not good. Too long, boring and obinoxious.

The score? Awful. The suspense music is cloned from Morricone, as always. This time from Mission to Mars (Zimmer even uses an organ, for gods sake!). The emotional moments are pseudo-minimalist crap, as if Phillip Glass wrote music while in coma.

Very sad.

Hats off to Mr. Zimmer! Yes, it's absolute minimalism but even the haters have to admit that this score works perfectly in the movie. I found it absolutely mesmerizing, intellectual and very close to the heart of the film, the human drama. It felt like this time Zimmer really stepped back and served the movie quite tastefully. Already one of my favourite Zimmer scores.

I think it is deliberate. Zimmer likes his bass, but I guess they didn't consider the fact that every auditorium is different. There's a low continuous bass note in the first scene (just dialogue, no action) and a few scenes after that. This bass note hit the resonant frequency of the BFI IMAX in London and turned the whole room into a bass trap.
This effect probably didn't manifest itself in the studio when the final sound mix was created.

Seconded... saw the film this past weekend and walked away disappointed in both the film and the score. The film, while praiseworthy for its departure from CGI, remained dull and lifeless in both the science and human stories (the overly soppy human drama just dragged and dragged and dragged). The score (while only heard within the movie) offered no memorable themes, and I echo the statement above that it sounded like watered-down Philip Glass and would extend this by suggesting he was merely trying to emulate The Thin Red Line.

As such, I couldn't care less when the OST release is scheduled, as it will not be on my want-list.

I enjoyed the score a lot. I am looking forward to hearing this album without sound FX and dialogue. I kind of liked the fact that the score was more mellow and less bombastic...it was a pleasant aural ambient experience for my ears.

I have not seen or heard too many scores from 2014 yet, but as of right now, this might be my second favorite. I absolutely loved Big Hero 6's score.

No MEMORABLE themes was my quote... and I can't recall any cues or motifs from the in-film score. Perhaps you can hum one or two for me and post them!

Congrats on naming track titles on an album that none of us have access to yet... how exactly am I meant to sample these 'themes'?

It'a called common sense from seeing the movie...

Stay is when Coop says good bye to Murph and before the launch... amazing scene and cue

Imperfect Lock.... my favorite scene in the whole movie... and a lot of other people's favorite scene as well.

What Happens Now? is the main theme and plays right at the end... gets you pumped up like Time from Inception and the Batman theme from TDK and TDKR
