Same cover, new rip. Variations in stage tracks were merged together in a single track. The final "disc" contains extras that are solo variations of tracks merged previously. Also its interesting to note that Dave Wise isn't the sole composer for DKCTF, there are many other artists contracted and may explain the quality between tracks. (Mixing and actual music composition, many tracks aren't so hot as I thought)

I am aware that many tracks are missing such as the cutscene and stage results music as far as I know. The cutscene audio cannot be properly played yet. This is currently rip 1.0 and I expect to update it whenever I can.

Also, yay for first PUBLIC Wii U data music rip! :D

Enjoy!

Wii U was cracked for a bit. I just recently found out. The tools and bypasses are among a few unfortunately. Specifically MK8 modders in the beginning.

Superb work !!!!!, this is easily one of 2014's best VGM scores and like always you've remastered and organized them marvelously, now if only I could EQ tracks like you.

Something that I am really liking in your recent work is how you combine different variations of a theme into one track. I've seen it previously in your Mario Kart 7 album and few others and I feel that it "completes" the songs effectively.

Unless the Staff Roll 2 is complete and looped, then I have no choice...

Mr. Wise not being a the sole composer for TF explains a lot. Honestly, I never really understood the hype TF's soundtrack gets. I mean, it's very good, but it's nowhere near DKC2's soundtrack as many people claim. Even still, it's definitely one of the best non-indie Western soundtracks released over the past few years.

Sweet! Thank you !!!!! for this. Enjoyed this soundtrack a lot so it's nice to see a proper rip.

Edit: Is anyone else having issues downloading the FLAC version? The download just stops in random spots and results in "failure". !!!!!, do you think it's possible to break this up into several files or upload to a different file hosting service?

I don't EQ the tracks unless they are an 8-bit and sometimes 16-bit VG music and thanks. I've been doing the variation transitions all the way back to my GOW3 rip. I try to make rips feel complete and similar to how it might be made into an actual soundtrack with the variations.

Yes, this is the best quality possible until Nintendo themselves release an OST which is very doubtful. Staff Roll 2 is looped and even more complete then I thought.

I was hyped for a moment because of David Wise. Kind of poor judgement on my part but it is a good soundtrack for non-indie western VG music just not amazing. The best moments are when old tracks are arranged unfortunately and Big Top Bop (a few others too). Length for many tracks drags out way too long and lack the quick, straight to the point, catchiness of when Dave Wise had limitations with the SNES.

I don't know if a few more weeks will cut it at least for it to be complete. I've had serious issue to just play the cutscene songs proper. I don't think i'll be able to complete it until Wii U data dumping is available to me.

In that case I'll download it now. But it'd be nice if, if there is an update of some sort, you uploaded these extra files separately so that one can tag them on his or her own... I'd rather not have to download the 2 gigabytes all over again.

If it's any help, I ran one of the cutscene audio files through Foobar2000, just to see what happens, and I got what I think is the LFE channel and a rear channel... I wasn't able to get it to receive the other four channels of audio. I don't know how successful you've been in playing those cutscene audio files at all, so I figured I might as well throw in some info.

Thanks!

As he said only three posts above yours - he likely won't be adding those tracks until Wii U dumping becomes available to him (i.e., he can get the raw files himself instead of relying on someone from the internet).

Thank you so much, this version sounds great :)

The Irate Eight-Tension sounds like it's from another level. I can't remember the name, but the currently used Tension track doesn't contain the "Booms" from the Kraken :) Just compare it to the other version. The other version has something more "underwater" feeling:-)

A few of those songs I won't be able to add ATM due to not fully having the access to the raw data like SkeletonMan said. A few tracks I missed I'll add shortly such as the loading screen when you start a game, relic theme, and small jingles. The Mangrove Cove intro is merged with the actual song i my rip.

After the music credits they (not including Scott Peterson) appear under "Contract Audio". I've checked the credits of the individuals and they profile as Composers, Mixers, and Sound Designers. If Dave Wise is the sole composer of the music it may explain why many of the tracks have different mixing and mastering.

I've gone through it and its not complete. It's missing FMV audio and the stage results theme. Like with DKCR all of the music is probably not in the same directory. Some files were embedding in level archives and its probably similar with this.

It's the same track but for some reason there are two versions of that Lockjaw Saga remix with different mixing for some odd reason. I chose the better mixed version of the song to use with the transition intro edited onto it.

Here is the more atmsopheric version of irate eight tension. It is weird because one set of the streams i downloaded had this version, but the other set of streams don't nor even include two versions of the track. My theory is that this track is somehow suppose to be 4 channels, but i don't see any indication that this track is interleaved.

Any chance for the cutscene to be ripped?

I think the cutscenes are mixed in 6 channel surround sound, though I don't think anyone's been able to extract them properly. Last time I tried, foobar only read the subwoofer channel and the front left channel (or maybe it was the rear left channel... no way to know unless someone is able to acquire all six channels).

Anyway, sometimes when a movie, TV show, or even a video game cutscene has a surround sound mix, you can edit out the sound effects and dialogue. Sometimes.

Thank you so much for this. I have a question about playing the music files. When I listen to them (both FLAC and MP3) in VLC it sounds fine, but when I import the MP3 files into iTunes, there are artefacts/crackling. Do you know what is wrong and what could I do about this? I tried converting the FLAC files with XLD, but it reports problems with conversions.

iTunes does not support the 32000hz that the music files possess, therefor the crackling is caused by the program trying to decipher a format that isn't 44000hz like most music have.

It sounds fine on everything else that isn't iTunes though.

markko
01-26-2015, 10:07 PM
Thank you, 3DMan, for replying so quickly. I was concerned about this. I love this music! I hope an official OST will also come out in the future. This one really deserves it. Converting the files to 32000z is not recommended? I think this is the first time I encounter music files with this frequency.

TheSkeletonMan939
01-26-2015, 10:19 PM
Nintendo often uses that frequency.

Just convert the files to 44.1 kHz and you should be fine.

The Ultimate Koopa
01-27-2015, 04:23 AM
You guys are wrong. I have iTunes, and I have files of various sample rates.
Specifically 22050, 24000, 32000, 44100, 48000, and 88200, and with bit rates ranging from 35 kbps (VBR) to 1411 kbps (CBR), and in both MP3 and AAC formats. Therefore, it's nothing to do with iTunes not supporting 32000 Hz MP3 files.

However, as for the reason this IS happening.... well, this is one of those problems that are EXCLUSIVE to FFShrine.

I know this for a fact, because after searching on Google for the last 20 minutes, I have found literally NOTHING even RELATED to this problem.

And if I have, the answer is simply "there is no answer". It's literally a mystery that no one can solve, and that can't be fixed (other than converting to another format in foobar2000, or anything that isn't iTunes).... also, yes, converting MP3s to AAC in iTunes does NOT remove the weird high pitched scratchy noises.

markko
01-27-2015, 09:26 AM
Thanks, The Ultimate Koopa. I realized yesterday I couldn`t solve this problem. I tried converting mp3 files in iTunes to aac, which didn`t work (noises remain) and I tried converting flac files to aac, but the software refused to work with these flac files. It was the first time XLD refused to work, I make a lot of conversions. I am on a Mac btw. I will try converting the files with foobar2000 on a friend`s computer. It is not a big problem, I can always listen to this in VLC, but it really seems to be a mystery. Let`s see if someone can solve it. I will try to search older posts on these forums. I didn`t try it yesterday because I thought it was a problem with just this rip. When I listen to these files on iPhone (synchronized with iTunes) they sound fine!

All music composed & arranged by David Wise, EXCEPT Daisuke Matsuoka (1-15, 4-08, 5-08), Minako Hamano (3-08, 5-16, 5-17), Shinji Ushiroda (2-13, 3-15), Masaru Tajima (1-03 from Returns). Rocket Barrel Returns tracks arranged by Wise, originally composed by Kenji Yamamoto. This is going by the current upload of course.

Can we get a reupload? It's not in the Nexus thread at all.

*facepalm to myself* I just realized it's not even on the thread.

I'll get to re-uploading it soon.

EDIT:
Finally back up.

UPDATE:
-Edited artist tags with those from ChunkyLover130
-SFX credited to sound team rather then David Wise
-Extras include both FLAC and MP3

Any citation on those credits or did you directly ask the artists via social media?

Has anyone ever taken a look at the Switch port to see if it has higher quality audio than the Wii U version?

If I remember correctly Breath of the Wild sounded much better on the Switch.
