Has anyone watched this show? What did you think? What was your favorite mobile suit/character?

Hi!! Finally, somebody posted about the Show. I think that the music is good, if it wasn't for the fact that it is dubbed in english, I think that it would be better. the Gundams are not as good as those in Endless waltz. more variety but the mechs were cooler in endles waltz

Someone finally posted about it, you say? Perhaps you missed it when I did the same thing a while back. No surprise since only one person replied to it.

And I think they beat the crap out of the endless waltz mechs. In endless waltz, they all completely defied logical bounds of how something like that should be able to move. They were made to be as flashy as possible with no regard to continuity and common sense. The mechs in Gundam Seed have a limited range of motions, which is more fitting for a large machine controlled much like an aircraft. Because of that, I find I can watch the show without nitpicking about how stupidly the show was directed, like I did all the way through Gundam W.

By the way, I refuse to watch it on tv, so I've only seen the first 15 episodes at this point. It's much better on dvd because the digital picture makes a huge difference and it has the Japanese language track.

Yeah I've only watched the first 24 episodes, too. But it is great so far. I love the mechs in it, especially the red gundam that Asuran pilots, and the red jet that can split into five parts. The story is quite deep, too � the whole thing about not wanting to fight but being unable to avoid it. who's your favorite character and mech? I like that guy who pilots the red jet.

That's classic Gundam there. Amuro from the original series was basically the same way.

That guy is a pretty good character, but I can't help cracking up when I hear his name. Mu La Flaga... :laugh:

ARGH!!! I was trying to find out exactly how to spell that guy's name and when I searched it, I saw a major spoiler on one of the results.

Possibly i missed it Prak, don't post much around the shrine this days, Maybe you have a point about the gundam in endless waltz being a bit illogical.... But I think that the same thing applies in gundam seed as well. It gets a bit illogical sometimes as well.... But I tend to throw out my common sense when I watch anime. The most impt point of a anime is the point that it is trying to bring across. The action is just a good enticement that's all. And that is what Gundam seed does quite well. I think all Gundam have the same storyline sometimes, it seems to always to be about some guy who gets caught up in the war piloting a huge wmd, and he doesn't know wether to fight or not to. anybody got comments on that?

I wouldn't know because I havn't watched many Gundam's, but a friend who does said the same thing. That its often about a character who doesn't want to fight but has no other option.

By the way, what do you guys know about GundamW? I saw the whole series on sale for $146 Austalian and was tempted to get it. Is it good?

Also, a new Gundam show started airing in Japan (where I am from) in early October. It's called Mobile Suit Gundam SEED Destiny, and follows a new main character in the aftermath of SEED. I'm boarding in a school in australia right now so I asked my mom to tape it.

about the Gundam wing, they are overpricing the damn thing over there. In my country, it is like what 40 bucks. That is damn cheap. May be because everybody is switching over to Gundam seed.

Heard about the new one, coming out soon. Can't wait for it to screen in my country. The mechs look overburdened arpund the shoulders pads though

Gundam Wing sucks. It's badly animated, pathetically directed, questionably acted, atrociously scripted, and has terrible music. The characters are slightly less likable than spore mold. In general, do NOT waste money on it unless you don't care about any of the concerns listed above.

So which Gundam series do you consider the best??

My Gundam knowledge is fairly limited, but of the ones I've seen, the best was probably 08th MS Team.

Heard that it was the best in the series, However since Gundam Wing is the first one that introduced me to the series...... I kinda liked it. Due to my relative inexpeirence in the Gundam universe, i stand aside in favour of your superior expeirence. I'll still liked though...:-D

Yeah, the 08th MS Team, I've heard about that. It was a shorter show right? Something like 12 episodes. I'd like to see it. Why did you like it? What sets it apart from others like SEED and W?

Did you notice that so far, Kira (main character from SEED) hasn't appeared in SEED Destiny yet? He's not even on any ads, posters, or websites. Kind of strange, considering that other important characters like Asuran and Kagari are still around... Any thoughts?

Besides different mechas and characters, nothing really set Gundam Seed apart from Wing. All Gundam series pretty much follow a similar storyline or plot and have Gundams presented. I watch Wing and watch Seed, but I prefer Wing, CC and the Original Mobile Suit Gundam over Seed. Most of Seed mobile suits remind me of Zeon and Federation suits besides the Coordinators and Naturals but I would still watch G. Seed since its a Gundam series and so far it has been good.
I think it really depends on you. If you haven't watch Wing, how do you know it sucks or not? Taking people words for granted on how they dislike Wing is their personal opinion. I suggest renting it or trying to borrow it to see how Gundam Wing is. And no, I'm not telling you to get it but I say its your choice and you should see it first to know how it is.
I watch most of the Gundam series that came in the U.S. and fairly enough, they're all pretty similar besides differences in timeline/characters.

Actually, most of what I said about Wing was not opinion, but verifiable fact. On nearly all technical aspects, the show was mediocre to abominable. The only things that can be taken as opinion are my impressions of the music and the characters.

yeah the anime gundam seed I watch almost all the episodes the singer of the theme is TM REVOLUTION and for the second season I think it was Nami Tamaki but kira reminds me of amuro

I love this show. Kira is cool.

as far as I know only Zaft coordinators and Kagalli our in Seed Destiny.

Oh I love it...its getting very exciting! I can't wait till Kira and Cagalli find out there brother and sister...and Cagalli and Athrun to start dating! I CANT WAIT!
