Thank you very much, KevinG! I loved the score! In my opinion, this very cool score deserved a better movie! (Which, at least in my opinion, didn't feel like a movie, but like a pilot for a TV show (all the battle scenes and such felt like a huge flashback, and the epilogue like the last scene of the pilot...).

I will have to listen to this at some point but I would imagine it will be the same repetitive composition that he's fallen prey to with his last few scores.

Sultan Mehmed had a nice start. Liked anything with chanting in Latin? too. Anyway, 3/5, it's solid and I enjoyed it. One of Ramin's better works, but it really does sound like Game of Thrones at times. I heard some old themes reworked.

Thanks for sharing, KevinG. You might be right about the score, though. My first impression is that it is indeed a tad boring. Djawadi can do better.

Really? I thought it was a well balanced score, that being from a RC guy like Djawadi, could've being perfectly turned into another typical historic score ala Zimmer. But it's a decent gothic action score, in the vein of The Mortal Instruments, that avoids synths or ostinatos. Same thing with the film, which it's fresh since it's not bloated (85 minutes) or a CGI extravaganza. Even though it's the first part of a cinematic universe that Universal is planning.

Also, there's some additional music by Brandon Campbell (The Silver Tent, Hand O' Bats, Part 2, Son Of The Devil).

Looks like the score is performed by The Czech Film Orchestra And Choir, same as in Game of Thrones Season 3 & 4. So you get something good! Besides, the choir you hear in tracks The Brood & This Life and the Next, yeah remind me of Dracarys & Mhysa from GOT. I fucking love them.
