Soundtrack as in the music that is in a movie.

So unless H.O.T made a movie soundtrack, they don't count. Even if they're Korean

I have a lot of respect for John Williams - his work on the Star Wars and Harry Potter movies is absolute brilliance.

But Howard Shore's music captured the feel of Middle Earth so perfectly in the Lord of the Rings, that I would have to give the best to him. His soundtrack for Return of the King in particular was the most emotional i've ever heard.

I don't really do movie soundtracks much. Of the ones I'm interested in, Kill Bill, I guess.

Gone in 60 Seconds soundtrack. Just the right sort of music for the film genre. Plus Flowers is awesome.

not counting musicals (i just think they are in a category by themselves--if i were counting them i would have to go with nightmare b4 xmas also cos danny elfman rocks), i guess the soundtrack that i have listened to the most is cruel intentions. i love a few songs a lot (placebo and the verve are on it!) and there are only a couple i don't like at all (if i have to hear praise you one more time i will rip my spleen out).

That's my favorite Kill Bill track too. It's like the best GETTIN' PUMPED UP music ever.

Also, I heard it in a commercial for an SUV the other day, and became depressed.

Well, the topic is about your favorite movie soundtrack, but whatever.

By the way, mine is a toss-up between the Transformers movie (I'm such a geek) and Dragonheart (probably the only thing Randy Edelman will be remembered for).

You are. Man, the Transformers movie had one of the most unfitting soundtracks ever, if I remember correctly. Part of the charm, I guess.

I was actually talking mainly about the Vince DiCola music, which I thought fit fairly well. Still, some of the songs were pretty good on their own, even if they didn't fit in the movie.

It has to be any movie soundtrack by John Williams:- he is so the most versatile composer out there at this point in time, just look at Star Wars you have the dark heavy Imperial March, then you have the light Luke and Leia music he is awesome.

I have to agree that the LoTR Music is breath taking, but I dont know enough about the composer.

Danny Elfman as done some good work (Batman, Darkman, Spiderman and the Simpsons) but most of his work has the same dark overtones

Basil Poledouris is another great. His Robocop music is fantastic and Conan is a great theme too. Its just none of these are as good as the master John Williams

Ps. Cool Lightsabre Raidenex !!
