NOTES

The Golden Voyage of Sinbad is a fantasy film released in 1973 and starring
John Phillip Law as Sinbad. It includes a score by composer Mikl�s R�zsa and
is known mostly for the stop motion effects by Ray Harryhausen. The film is
the second of three Sinbad films that Harryhausen made for Columbia, the others
being The 7th Voyage of Sinbad (1958) and Sinbad and the Eye of the Tiger (1977).
It won the first Saturn Award for Best Fantasy Film.
R�zsa conducted the Rome Symphony Orchestra and all involved more than rose
to the occasion. He contributed a score which compares favorably with his earlier
classics. Happily, all of composer's myriad sparkling effects from harp, wooden
xylophone, vibraphone, muted brass and other colors play through beautifully.
The CD is packaged nicely. The original score is on disc one, in full stereo.
The transfer is clearer than an earlier release. The disc finishes with a mono
transfer of the full score (which is continued on disc two). The additional
tracks are superb and will bring a fresh appreciation.

I have included artwork, movie stills, a 26-page cue rundown analysis
by Bill Wrobel, info and tracklist in the file.
