I just wanted to see what funny names people have come up with for characters in final fantasy. My two are that in 7 i called Red XIII Bajwah and in 8 i called Rinoa Bobette.

OMG before I got FFVII and into FF generally I went round to my cousins home to play FFVII (there was only FFVII back then) and I called them the funniest names!! Put Cloud as "God" and Barret as "Dick Head" and Red XIII as "Lampshade" damnit can't remember any others...

I remember naming Bartz/Butz "Boko" (I believe)... at least, his chocobo's name. I don't know why I found it so amusing ?_?

i called tifa xxjf because i wanted to hurry the game up, so i just pressed everything and thats what came up :laugh:

I never have given a character a different name except for Red XIII in FF7, I always prefered him to be called Nanaki. I never really understood why exactly you could change the names of the characters. But that's just me.

I just remembered i also called squall !.,"? and the pronunciation we came up with was that it was just facial expressions ending with BLEH! and by the way for those of you who dont know red XIII real name Nanaki translates into no name.

I only name them when I get bored of beating the game over and over or when I beat the game at least two times. I don't very often though.

I did the same thing!! And I was laughing really hard!

In ff VII I switched all the names around, Cloud was Sephiroth, Aeris was Cait Sith, Barret Red XIII, etc. It got really confusing, and it was entertaining.

It'd be like reading LotR but everytime you see "Frodo" you pretend it's "poopface" and everytime you see "Aragorn" you pretend it's "albiskhwoigh"

also, for the non-good-story FF's (VII comes to mind), it's more like reading The Little Engine that Could and doing the same thing. :'(

In my first game of ff8 I named squall Logan and Rinoa after myself (Riva).
Then i started over and kept the names, but I acedently pernounced Rinoa as Riona and i like that name better

i pronouned it Rona i don't know why, maybe i couldn't see the name right, the writting in those booklets are soooo small!

i redid ff9 and named the following;

Vivi - Gizmo
Freya - Frig
Zidane - Hano
Garnet - Rita
Armarant - Cluck (LOL)
Quina - Mish Mash
Steiner - Bracket

I wanted to call Cloud Lucky Strike(after the cigarette brand) but it wouldn't fit, so I had to go with Kamel RED.

On my first FF game (ever) I named Cloud on FF7 Portquel.

On FF9 I didn't like the name Dagger, so I named her Lorina.
