IF she was a real person who was able to be fined for animal cruelty, I don't think she would be fined. When we tell our dogs to "sit" or "stay", is that abuse? What about when dogs are trained to rescue survivors of accidents, or to sniff out cocaine, or to lead the blind? Some people say yes, it is abuse, but by law it isn't. If Rinoa trained her dog to do outrageous things, as long as the dog isn't hurt (and he obviously isn't), and has a great quality of life and isn't emotionally scarred, then it's fine.

Even if the dog did have super powers, it could still be abused. But the dog seemed to really love Rinoa, and was loyal to her. A dog who is abused is more withdrawn, scared, detached... Angelo was none of these things.

Sad to say..but yes, that's true. that's what made me an animal activist here in the Philippines. To save as many abused animals as i can. one time, i managed to save a stray dog who was being beaten to death by some drunkards and is close to becoming dinner. I felt really proud of myself that day. And I gave the poor doggie to a friend who took good care of her. I wish all people can see how valuable animals are.

the time I was 9 I had lots of cats 8 to be exact which I'd cared very much about it was the time when I was at the philippines that day my neighbor killed them like they were a bunch of useless animal....and 4 of them were just born I I can't say anymore it's too sad to mention.....

That reminds me of my mom cos everytime my female cat (may she rest in peace) gave birth, she'd lie to me and tell me that the kittens got lost but one time i found out that she's asking the househelper to throw them away. i really got mad at her..and the my cats too, i think..cos the adults would just sh*t on her bed. lmao. good thing she changed her mind. cos she realized how much I love my pets. And i remember smashing a huge beer bottle in our neighbor's head because he tried to hurt my favorite cat. serves him right. why are some people so cruel.

My mom refused to eat dog in the Philippines; she kept all her animals alive and healthy, but she said it ended up with her having like 50 pets. Now we have one dog and she can't stand him, so it's hard to imagine her being an animal-person in her youth.

Aaaanyway, I think the topic of animal abuse in general belongs in the General Chat forum, so if someone wants to carry the conversation on in there, it would probably be best.
