Well, Apparently, the Overture on the first disc is the complete film version compared to the album edit on the 2004 disc.

Well, Apparently, the Overture on the first disc is the complete film version compared to the album edit on the 2004 disc.

Actually, it's the overture on the second disc that's longer. In the film version of the overture (which is not included here) the overture segues directly into the One Man Band sequence. For the original LP, Irwin Kostal created a different ending to suit an album experience and that's what they've included on disc 2. The disc 1 overture is exactly what was included on the 2004 release. Still interesting to hear the LP version, though.

1. I don't have a scanner! :P

2. Even if I did, I don't want to ruin the spine of this lovely book.

If you buy The Legacy Collection:The Lion King on iTunes, it comes with a digital booklet. I haven't gotten my hands on that yet but im guessing it's the same as the physical booklet. I'm hoping the same will happen for The Legacy Collection: Mary Poppins. That way no one will have to scan their books.

I hope to buy this next month, but thanks to you now I can pre-listen the album and see if it's far better than the 2004 album I have.

Having listened to it I do think there was a little remastering done. I compared the songs "The Life I Lead" and "Let's Go Fly A Kite" with a previous 28-track version (2004? 2006?) and they seem to have reduced tape hiss in the vocal. It sounds great for a fifty-year-old film and there's probably not much more they can do now.

Thank you for sharing this great release. The soundtrack is beautifully expanded, and the demos and cut-songs are also pretty nice.
But there seems to be a problem in track 15 of disc 2 [The Chimpanzoo (Demo)]. There's a clicking noise on the audio. Does this have to do with your CD rip? If this sound is not on the original CD, could you please re-copy this track?
