This is a bit like TK's thread but I'm focusing more on the exact instrument. I play guitar, and it is a Fender Strat w/ a custom pickguard. Looks cool too. Plus, I'm only about $100 away from getting a '76 Gibson Explorer. =)
Or I'm getting a Gibson SG Supreme w/ '57 humbuckers :D, but I don't know what color to choose. Could I have some opinions choosing? I'll attach pix. So? What's your instrument?

I like the blue SG best, but I think they look better in black or red. SGs are wonderful though. I would love to own one.

What's with the first picture? That's an ugly guitar. X_X

My guitar is a Danelectro Hodad. They stopped making guitars like 2 years ago and I was actually pretty lucky to get this for the price I did -- it's not high end or anything, but I got it for like 100 bucks less than normal and it's a pretty decent guitar. It's a really nice cream color and it's built to look and sound like a Mosrite, which is a really gorgeous sort of guitar they stopped making in the 70s. I'd rather have a real Mosrite but those are expensive because you can't buy them new anymore, so my Hodad is good for now. It's a shame though because Mosrites used to be pretty inexpensive back when they were in production. =\

My first guitar was a Squier. Not very cool. But it was a nice color.

I play the piano. I don't own a piano anymore though, so playing the piano has pretty much turned into playing the keyboard,

I also play a lot of percussive instruments. I know it doesn't sound like much, but I can do some pretty cool stuff, like play a xylophone with three mallets at once.

I really love bands that use marimbas and timpanis and stuff in their music, so if I ever start a band, I'm set.

I have a Fender Telecaster Plus. () My dream guitar would probably be a Fender Starcaster. () The problem with getting a Fender Starcaster is they cost on average about 2,500, and are very rare.

TK
10-19-2004, 08:19 PM
I like your telecaster more, to be honest. That Star has a pretty ugly shape. =\

I hate it when guitars are too expensive to buy. I want this Paul Reed Smith one that's hanging in a local guitar shop, but it's $1600... used.

Dr. Lucien Sanchez
10-19-2004, 09:39 PM
The Starcaster does look abit ugly I admit, but from what I've read and heard on CDs that use the Starcaster, it has a beautiful sound. My other dream guitar would probably be the Hofner Galaxie. () But again these cost alot, roughly 2,000, and are again very rare.

That PRS though must be an absolute beauty, to cost that much, even used. But then again PRS's are amazing guitars.

4th or 5th grade you can choose an instrument. 6th-8th grade you have to take band, chorus or orchestra. 9th-12th you don't have to take those if you don't want to.

It can be plugged into an amp, but I don't have one yet. I'd like to get that and an actual electric one day, if I keep up guitar and keep liking it.

In the local used guitar store there is an LTD EC-1000 Deluxe hanging on the wall that I want to buy so so so badly but I can't justify it because I just bought a guitar pretty recently.

It looks like this (), though. I'm probably going to end up going there and asking to try playing it just so I can try playing it even though I'm not going to buy it. =\

It's funny because it's built in the Les Paul style but I like these things so so so much more than actual Les Pauls, and they're built for a dirtier sound, too, which would lend itself to the kind of music I play.

I had a guitar a couple years back. I figured that I'd be able to teach myself no problem, since I taught myself how to play the piano, but I could never really get the hang of it. I've heard it's harder to teach yourself guitar if you can read music?

At any rate, I might take lessons one of these days because it'd be a fun instrument to know how to play. And being able to read tabs would be awesome. ^^

Tabs is alot easier to read than notation, though notation is great as its universal across all instruments. But tab is so easy, you'd want to punch yourself in the face for realising earlier, also tab is a Saint compared to learning notation.

I used to play flute, back in elementary school, but my Grandpa convinced me to switch to bassoon. For scholarship reasons. I never did get a scholarship :] I love bassoon, and I'm pretty good at it (when I'm practiced up. I haven't played for 1/2 a year now). I also play piano, but its been awhile since I took lessons, so I'm not as skilled as I once was. I tried guitar, but I'm more of a woodwind player, not strings. Too hard to get used to. I played melophone/trumpet or xylophone for pep band, since bassoons don't really fit in :]

I'd love to start playing bassoon again. Maybe next year. ;\

Well being that I love to make music and write songs I know how to play most conventional instruments. I'm currentley in love with playing the piano. I play Tenor Sax the best, I can sight read and solo at an over average skill on this instrument. I also really like playing drums. I've been playing acoustic guitar for over a year and electric bass for about 8 months now. The acoustic is a fat-necked one for big hands and I mainly use it to make little riffs. I play guitar. Have two Jacksons. A Jackson performer, with all its usual set up! Usually in E standard (for playing metallica or iron maiden usually), or in D standard for band stuff.
My other guitar is a Jackson WRMG warrior. Its spikey ^_^ and evil looking. Has two EMG Hz's. 24 frets and an original floyd rose tremelo. :)
This guitar is usualy in C standard for heavy band stuff. :-D

Both of them are dark green. :)
