Here we go, SHERLOCK. I'm presenting you Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows (Remastered). First of all, The story? The score release is really disappointing, wrong remastering, ''a huge mistake'' the pitch is off key completely, the whole soundtrack is sped up compared to the film actual speed, that makes the orchestrations seem very cheap and nasty. Until.....?
I remastered the whole score, fixed the sped/tempo and the pitch, now everything is normal and the score is a thoroughly enjoyably listening experience. I'm happy to share it here with everyone, because this is a brilliant score and really worth to listen!

i just finished listening to this version and i can't say if better then the retail release, because it's not a score i've listen so often. it certainly isn't worse. but if goback says he tried to match the original movie speed, then i take his word on it. i certainly can recommend it, as the score itself is pretty good. though i prefer the score for the first sherlock holmes movie more... but that's a different story.

Not sure if it's just the film mix being different and the album being recorded from a different session or if it has anything to do with the sample rates.
CD has a SR of 44.1kHZ (44100Hz).
Bluray/DVD has a SR of 48kHz (48000Hz).

I wonder if the (studio) mixer actually screwed up somewhere.

Agreed, that was a huge mistake from WaterTower, the studio mixer...etc I don't know who is the guilty here! Let me say, this release needs a re-issue. But who really cares?

No, the CD would sound slower if the sampler rate is lower. So the issue is elsewhere.

Or I'm having this all switched around, pretty tired right now :P

There's nothing wrong with the score itself. Simply, the OST release was fucked up by WaterTower Music and the brilliant mixers.
