In my opinion,this is one great movie score and Victor Young deserved the Academy Award he was bestowed for best movie score. Most unfortunate he didn't live to see it. The man was a remarkable film composer.

While I'm not a fan of the movie; it's racist portrayal of Native Americans and the filmmakers not giving Shirley MacLaine's character anything proactive to do in the story were turnoffs; the soundtrack is nevertheless Victor Young's greatest work. For a more satisfying treatment of the story, I recommend the 1989 miniseries. Too bad the miniseries doesn't have a great score like the movie. Thanks for making this new version available.
