12-part Czech/German family saga from Otto Zelenka and Bohumila Zelenkov�, based on the novel by Eduard Bass. Directed by Frantisek Filip.
The series tells the story of Circus Humberto in several generations, from the foundation 1862 to the present. A lavish production with 162 actors, 200 artists, over 400 musicians and about 600 horses on set recreates the epic saga
of Eduard Bass' novel with the same name from 1941 about people working in circusses.
Karel Svoboda's soundtrack fits the scenery very well with its sweeping main theme and different cues for the circus sequences, some more dramatic, some more comical.
