On iTunes music always has a different bitrate.

On iTunes music is always 256k m4a. It used to be 128k years ago, but has since been upgraded to 256k

My Player (AIMP 3) shows so bitrate.

Guardians United sounds a hell a lot similar to Desplat's Harry Potter music. At least the first 30 some seconds of the cue sound like it. Just me? It's definitely the same 'type' of music..

Thanks for this, saw the movie at a preview last week, loved it, but the score was unmemorable, it's overpowered by the soundtrack tracks used throughout - to good effect, only the score didn't really have a repeatable theme that i remember, which is a shame.

Thanks for sharing. Going to give this a try even though the samples I heard did not impress. Who knows, I ended up enjoying Hercules (both Velazquez and Kantelinen).

EDIT: Yup, another modern score that tries to write themes and yet they fall flat. And big thematic cues are boring because they don't have much going on in the background. Plus in general the orchestra sounds a bit off because it is still mostly lacking in woodwinds like so many modern scores.

Seeing the comments, about being trash, and everything, I can only say one thing.

I'm going to fucking love this score.

I find descriptions of the music as "trash", "garbage" or "crap" as being distasteful. I do listen to the opinions of many persons on music here, and a number of them I respect very highly. But I would rather say that a score is not my style, or is uninteresting, whatever. Criticism is fine and dandy, but the derogatory are just....uncharitable.

[Sense of impending doom as I'm downloading it] ... Surprisingly, it's not completely awful, there a few nice touches. Thematically unmemorable (Hey, it's Tyler Bates!), muddy sound mix of orchestra and electronics, too many repetitions. But, not completely awful. Will I ever listen to it again? Not bloody likely. ;)

Too bad this great film did not get a correct score. At least Bates doesn't ruin the film, but a great score with descent and well written themes could have transcended Gunn's movie.

End Credits edit uploaded to the following link. MP3 320kbps. Edit was created from existing released FLAC score after multiple viewings of the film and is as close as possible to the film cue. Credits as heard in film has several cues with slightly different instrumentation and tempo. I'm assuming the end credits were put together with some alt cues of some of the album tracks. This edit is as close as we can get until the Blu-Ray is commercially released or the recording sessions come out.
