The purpose of this thread is to catalog which games have officially released soundtrack albums or at least have musical tracks from their games on an officially licensed album. That way, if someone wanted to collect all the soundtracks for a certain game or series and collate them, this guide will help, listing each by game. This thread will largely be Nintendo heavy, since those are the kinds of games that have always interested me. (Other posters can make similar lists in this thread for all kinds of other game franchises/genres if they wish.)
Note that when I indicate a game having a "full" soundtrack, that doesn't necessarily mean a 100% comprehensive album containing every single tune, jingle, and variant that can be found in the game (I've found that rarely to be the case); it just means that the game has an entire album devoted to it, even if a few tracks are missing here and there. Also, for the purposes of this thread, I am only interested in the in-game music--so no arrangements, remixes, or orchestrations are taken into account. I'll also be using North American naming conventions for the games, despite the fact the vast majority of these soundtracks originate from Japan.
Anyway, my posts in this thread will cover the main Mario series, as well as Donkey Kong, Yoshi, Wario, and other Mario spin-offs, then The Legend of Zelda, Metroid, Mega Man, etc.
Also (and this is another major reason why I'm starting this thread)--please let me know if I'm missing any tracks or games!
This first post, then, will cover the main entries in the Mario series.
Mario Bros.
Full OST (http://vgmdb.com/album/1474) (such as it is) in volume S-3 of the Famicom GSH series, as well as a full sampling (http://vgmdb.com/album/422) on Mario the Music in FSHS.
Super Mario Bros.
Full OST (http://vgmdb.com/album/1407) in volume 1 of the Famicom GSH series (includes sped-up versions of stage themes), as well as full (http://vgmdb.com/album/533) samplings (http://vgmdb.com/album/422) on disc 2 of the Super Mario World album (higher quality but doesn't include sped-up variations) and Mario the Music in FSHS (similar quality to the Famicom GSH version), respectively.
Vs. Super Mario Bros.
1 track (http://vgmdb.com/album/533) ("Worker Mario Name Entry"--the only track unique to that game) on disc 2 of the Super Mario World album.
Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels (a.k.a. Super Mario Bros. 2 in Japan)
1 track (http://vgmdb.com/album/533) ("Ending"--the only track unique to that game) on disc 2 of the Super Mario World album, also (http://vgmdb.com/album/422) on Mario the Music in FSHS (as "Ending BGM").
Super Mario Bros. 2 (a.k.a. Super Mario USA in Japan)
Full OST (http://vgmdb.com/album/1474) in volume S-3 of the Famicom GSH series, as well as a full sampling (http://vgmdb.com/album/422) on Mario the Music in FSHS (though it vexes me that both versions left out the Subspace BGM).
Super Mario Bros. 3
Full OST (http://vgmdb.com/album/8772) in volume ND of the Famicom GSH series, as well as full (http://vgmdb.com/album/533) samplings (http://vgmdb.com/album/422) on disc 2 of the Super Mario World album and Mario the Music in FSHS (the latter including sped-up stage themes), respectively.
Super Mario Land
A unique case in that there is this arrange album (http://vgmdb.com/album/1478) at the end of which is a medley of all the original BGM from the game itself.
Super Mario World
Full OST (http://vgmdb.com/album/533) on disc 2 of this album, after music from the NES/Famicom Mario titles.

New Super Mario Bros. Wii
