Have you ever maxed out stats? Gotten the enemy skill Choco Buckle up to maximum strength? Gotten guys to level 99 somewhere on disk one? Gone through the game as fast as you could (time trial)? Beaten the weapons with some ridiculous condition (like only attacking)? Beaten the game in one day? These might be considered very obsessive things that not many players would take the time and energy to do.

Be creative. To make something really hard in a relatively easy game first you have to think up what you want to do. I've found that running through the game as fast as you can gets very challenging. By disk two you have to have everyone in the back row with permanent barriers or they die in almost one hit. Not to mention running out of items.

Remember, its only cool and obsessive if you had to put in a massive amount of time (no cheating) to do something or if you took the time to accomplish something in a ridiculously hard way just for a challenge.

Stuff I thought up at later dates:
Best snowboarding times
Level Aeris up to 99 (somebody said they've done it)
How many master summon materias created
Gotten lucky 7777s.
Beaten the game without certain types of materia

These might be considered very "anal" things that only people with extremely too much time on their hands would take the time and energy to do.

Hmmm, well I have got to level 100. But I haven't done anything that obsessive.

The most obsessive things I do is;

1.I always have to get Cloud to date Tifa
2.I had to beat Ruby and Emerald Weapon because I wanted a challenge
3.I HAD to get the Gold Chocobo to get KOR
4.I always have to let Tifa ride the Chocobo.

Tifa's I would say is just as romantic as Aerith's.

Yuffie's is okay not that thrilling(despite the part when she kissed him on the cheeck, that was thrilling!).

But man you should see Barret's! That was supposed to be darn right funny, and I would agree with that! What he says on the Gondola, but I don't wanna spoil it too much for ya.

Well, next time I play it through I'll try dating someone else then.

How do you get the barret date?

If anyone has ACTUALLY DONE IT, not just heard or read about it, please let me know how you did it.

Maxing out my character's stats took me absolutely ages! I had to morph loads of enemies into the sources, the only one I can remember was morphing those green rhino tanks at mideel reactor into Power Sources. I used Sneak Attack=Morph as they were the only enemies that you could fight there.

Every time I play FF-VII, I try to finish it in less than 70 hours. But everybody who is fighting has a totally filled out Enemy Skills materia (means I have 3 Enemy Skills at the end).

And I try to get as many master masteria as I can. Usually I have at least 4 yellow ones, 3 green ones, 2 red ones (including the ones I get after beating the Weapons). :)

Yeah, its easier to beat the weapons first to get master materia, but I always fight in the same place in the crater to train and master my materia. I always master loads of phoenixes because of the final attack trick.

And you gotta buy the flower and give it to Marlene. Get Cloud to go with Don Corneo in the Mansion, then select the message "Yes, his name's Barret.

So far Sephiroth's Brother is the winner, I don't know of anyone who has actually maxed out stats without cheating. I've nearly maxed out Cloud's stats, but thats it. You have to morph the tank things in Junon. Having 255 Strength makes morphing the harder submarine creatures easier (they give you the other sources). If you get a high enough luck you will get a critical hit every time (the higher pitched 2x damage cut). Soon you can do 9999 with a buster sword and nothing can touch you because you are too fast =).

I've also gotten 6 gold chocobos, and master materia. Gotta love W-Item and the magic pots. Without them it'd take forever. Oh yeah, and those dancing dot things. If you know what I'm talking about I like you.

All kinds of different challenges. Like no materia, no upgrade (that means no new weapons/armors) and more of that.

I know what you're talking about. ;)

Sadly, the furthest I've gone, is getting all gold chocobos and racing them to class S. The highest I got my levels was 95, and then I got impatient. Ive beaten the weapons, which I would put as obsessive for me, but I know everyone does that. =)

Oh, I've beten the final bosses with everyons initial weapons. Not much of an obsession, but...

Other than repeatedly trying to beat the weapons at like level 40, using a mound of HP plus materia, not much

I randomly decided to get Aeris to level 99 just for the hell of it. And I have completed all those goodamn snowboard races, eventually you can get a moogle or a cautuar racing down the slopes with you, just a time trail thing. But the 2nd thing is not really that obsessive.

Gast

Trying to complete the game without materia. Note the "trying".

lol, the most obssesive things ive done on ff7, lol, hmm..... well, for one, got to lvl 85 before the end of disk 2, mastered out all my summon materia (includes all of the summon materia cept Alexander because i missed it. T.T)4 times before the final battle against Hojo, breeding 4 gold chocobos (dont ask me why because i dont have an answer, lol) in 6 days, getting all of the lvl 4 limit breakes (except catastrophy) learned before heading into Midgar in the thrid disk, and finally mastereing so much materia that it makes my head spin (up to 75 mastered materia now. trick is to go to the crashed galinka and fight there, with Cloud's apocolypse weapon (one with the triple growth) and fight a hell of a long time there. also good for using the gil plus, i currently have 4 mil gil, all from in the crahsed galinka."

You should level up in the crater where the magic pots and dancing dots are. Make sure you have W-Item and Elixirs. Its much faster than the submarine. If you are trying to Morph things into sources (gets you way stronger than leveling up, but takes FOREVER), stay in the sub. If you want gil the best thing to do is master ALL materia and sell it.

I can't imagine getting Aerith to 99, that must take so long. Where did you do this?

Dot Centaur

I used to get obsessed about beating Emerald before the end of disc 2.

I finished the game even though I didn't like it because I can't leave any game unfinished. I'd call that obsessive.
