Cool, another Kunzel album with film music, this time related to war movies of the Golden Age. I knew a couple of pieces of Victory At War, so I googled it and learned that it was a 26-episodes documentary about World War II that was later condensed into a film, and that Richard Rodgers "contributed 12 "themes"�short piano compositions a minute or two in length" (wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Victory_at_Sea)), from which Robert Russell Bennet did the score for most of the series. No wonder it won an Emmy award if the music alone was so good.

I welcomed also the inclusion of the Casablanca Suite and the other tracks complementing the marches, which are always so fun and cheer you up until the end of the album. Thanks for sharing it, friend.

I have the 26 episodes of Victory at Sea on video. I found it in the bargain bin at Walmart a couple of years ago for $5.00. The music isn't what I'd call a high quality listening experience but the documentary is priceless.
