The first seven tracks that are up do not impress at all. Very subdued, almost like background music.

You mean, like some sort of soundtrack?

Don't...it'll hurt your brain. I have seen so many comments like that, mine exploded years ago. Reviews on Amazon....

":man this isn't the soundtrack. It's just a bunch of some kind of classical music that played behind and between scenes. All of the songs are missing....what a rip...."

True to God I have seen this......O.o

Why does Giacchino always mixes his orchestra so "dry". He uses a full orchestra an choir but it always ends up like it was recorded in the seventies. I liked Doyle his effort much more.

On the other hand, I should not complain. We already had a great year in soundtrack land. :)

Lol I've seen these two. Horner's Karate Kid for example has an Amazon review along these lines.

Wow amazing score, the best of the year for me (so far) ; and the sound quality is a little better than usual for a Giacchino album

They didn't respect the power of science and now we've got a Planet of the Apes. Thanks a lot, jerks.

Thanks for the oboom link. Trying it now. It'll take an hour.

I would have preferred Doyle to have continued, but the trailer indicates that this film is different beast entirely, so maybe a different composer was needed. Whatever the reason, I'll judge the music on its merits. I am looking forward to the film though.

Any chance of a re-upload for the 320 or even a FLAC version?
