Freya's attack, mark of the dragon (or something like that) is the best attack in the game, no? The animation is of a strange symbol appearing on the ground and a dragons head coming out and taking a bite out of the target.

It's an attack that starts at about 500 damage, but every time you use it in combat against a dragon, the damage increases by about 80-90. This permanent bonus is added only once per combat, so you can't use the attack three times against the same dragon and expect to get 240-360 damage bonus. However, this means that if you kill enough dragons (the islands to the west of the forgotten continent is an ideal location to train) you can deal 9999 to any target regardless of their defense, for the amazing cost of only 16 MP. I think the item that teaches you this can only be found in Memoria. When you enter Memoria, as in the actual castle, where you have the option of saving at this strange glowing ball, or returning to your airship, walk along the right side of the space and keep pressing the button. The item cannot be seen, but it is there on the right side of the room. This is a lot less of a pain to get then Quina's frog drop.

it's dragon's crest and i thought it's damage raises as you kill dragon monsters? i don't remember using it so often and got to 9999. i hardly ever used it till it did 9999 -.-;

it is one of the best moves in the game, especialy if your a hard core trainer and train down on the islands a little south of dagganerro(spelt wrong). pretty sure you can learn it earler that memoria. but dont forget shock(steiners attack doing 9999 95% of the time) which would be better for the non-hard core trainers just because, if my memory is correct, costs a little more MP but dosnt need as much atention to do as much damage.

too bad you cand learn "damage break"??(from ff10) so freyas dragon crest can do over 9999 damage by attacking soooo many dragons.

i like quinas blue magic attacks they are all pretty cool but the best attack is where zidnae sacrifices himself for everyone else or bahamut

what i hate about zidane's trance skills is that later on with ultima weapon zidane always does 9999. no point of using trance skill like grand lethal or whatever the name it was. seriously most suckiest thing about FF9 was that the best trance skill and optional summon not having multi attack.

Freya's Dragon Crest, Quina's Frog Drop, and Zidane's Theivery can be built to deal 9999 no matter what. But it does take a long time to build them up to hit for that much. I do agree that Freya's is much easier to build, because you can easily slaughter Grand Dragons to level up your levels. :)

Dead Peppers. I was fighting one of the bosses towards the end of the game, 3 of my characters were dead, I was in horrible shape. I looked for something... ANYTHING... to stop me from losing. I threw a few dead peppers,(each doing 9999) one after the other, and MWWAAHAAAA... I killed it!

Yeah thats great and all, but theres one problem, Omnislash doesn't appear to be in FF9. Anyway I think either Shock or Climhazzard is the best moves in the game, quite lethal moves.

When you characters do skills which deal 9999, such as Dragon's crest, it's so chaep that you don't wanna play any longer.

I think Dragon's Crest is the best. You Just kill 100 Dragons, It'll make damge 9999(It can't do over that) Thievery is quite hard to build. But I think Frog Drop is the Hardest I can catch it just 30 frogs.

id say harvest moon. it does like 2,000 each. but this was during the beginning of the game.

at first, i wuz like "damn, i gotta get this move from 1500 all the way to 9999" and each successful steal powered it up like 5 points. but since he stole so much and so early on(the begining of disk 3), zydane got good at it and i had 99 potions, hi-potions,ethers,tents,status removal items, and since the 'spirit' stat increases your ablilty to steal (among other things), i focused on that and got his spirit up to 50, so now he NEVER fails an attempt to steal, i got a load of nice items, and my theivery is at 9999 before i hit terra, so if u start workin at it soon as u can, it is hot.
