Another one of my MP3 @320 movie scores archived on flash drive bites the dust. For me it doesn't really get any better than this one that I think is one of the 10 best scores in movie history.

Edit: What a superb remastering job done by Mark. This movie score sounds like the M-G-M Studio Orchestra recorded it last year,not in 1963. Amazing.

I've downloaded the files and tested them with 7zip and they're fine. you may have a corrupt file. also make sure that you have both files in same folder when you decompress them.

Try to download "HJ Split" software. When you get this software choose the button "Join" and search the file with the extension .001 (in this case the file 63TGE[FLA].7z.001). Wait until the joining function ends and you'll have a file with extension .7z that you can unzip with winrar.

I have a question though: At the top of your post it says "Remastered by Spectre][SoundLab™". So, to what extent did you remaster these tracks? Just curious, as I found a file named "Remastered Info.txt" within the .7z archive, but it just contains a track list and what appears to be abbreviated liner notes from MAF 7112. Did I miss something?

I'm curious about this too, as I never noticed anything wrong with the sound on my Intrada discs.

Small amount of hiss on the right channel, clipping damage in some tracks, artifacts such as instrument noise clang or bang, any pop or click, dropouts. I don't remember everything, it's been a while since I worked on it.

Edit: Spectacular Restoring, i have all edition (even that painful McNeely version, (artistically & Recording))
if you really want to find a nit, the last higher harmonic seems slightly emphatic, I think of a small quantization error (?)

Thanks. It sounds good, with less noise, but I think I prefer the original sound. The original sounds fuller to me, this sounds a bit thinner and treblier, but great work nonetheless.

I have the double CD release and earlier reissues of the 1963 album, but the one thing still missing is a brief track played during the scene of Hilts (Steve McQueen) escaping at night, with the scene dissolving to daylight with the Nazis examining the hole he cut out of the wires. This scene takes place after the 4th of July / Ives death scene, where Hilts volunteers to break out to obtain necessary information.

I'm nit sure if this track was lost or damaged, but its certainly not a part of any of the "complete" releases of the score.

It's hard to believe anyone on this forum doesn't have this score but if not the links still work,thanks to Spectre8750.
