Hello all. I have a quick question to ask. What is a good, free, user friendly piece of software that I can download to convert FLAC files to MP3/WAV? On a quick search, I've looked at many, but I'd like the input of those that have used the software they are recommending. I eagerly await your suggestions, and thanks for the help.

Yes, the licensing terms forbid Foobar2000 to distribute it.

Go to Rarewares for the latest LAME binaries (dll).

If you are using a Mac, I recommend All2MP3

I use FlacSquisher. Is that good?

ive been using AIMP and ive seen rly good results, specially with the tags

If all you want to do is convert, in my opinion you should grab LameDropXPd (http://www.rarewares.org/mp3-lamedrop.php).
It's a drag and drop application that is very fast and easy to use.

Like Sparkie said Foobar can convert files to mp3, and besides being an audio player it is however not so user friendly for converting files. Also if you have installed already some other player in your computer you end up using two audio players.

On the other hand dbpoweramp has a more easier interface and can also convert files to mp3 or other media file formats, but has the handicap of not being a freeware like Foobar.

Still send me a message if you want a free cracked version of dbpoweramp.

i was gonna suggest FFmpeg, but since u say "user-friendly", i guess it doesnt qualify :)

XmediaRecode (XMedia Recode (http://www.xmedia-recode.de)) is my piece of choice.

I use MediaMonkey but the free encoding feature ends after 30 days.
