Thanks. I know Mr. Merrick will be happy about this one.

I was ecstatic when I got this...I blanketed everybody on Pianofiles who had it, and as the saying goes "you wait forever (for a bus) then three come along at once" (which is why I took it off my signature).

As the OP says, not the most engaging Julyan material, but the slow-burn is well worth it in my opinion. Fantastic film too! May watch again this weekend.

Thanks for finally getting it out there :)

Agreed. Fantastic film. I've seen it a bunch of times. The first time I saw it I quite literally wanted to start over at the beginning again. Sadly the film is incredibly underrated.

I love this movie. Definitely a gem and highly underrated for sure. I remember The Illusionist came out around the same time and most people seemed to prefer that movie over this one, even though they are very different. This was one of my favorite movies from the decade of the the 2000's.

Anyways, the score was extremely effective and really helped carry the weight of the emotions in a lot of the movie. Very ambient for the most part, but none the less very good.

I can't really say I love this movie (yet): it's impressive, but I still didn't understand it. Still have to dig it (along with Memento). Anyway, they're undoubtedly great movies, definitely underrated.
