Wakatake Mari has been living with her grandmother for the past five years after a tragedy caused the loss of her home, friends, family, and memory. Fearing for her future, her grandmother admits her into Kaio Academy so she can make friends, rather than stay home and study. Although reluctant to leave, she goes and meets new people at the school, including Senkoji Hagino. At first, this girl appears to be a normal student, but with her lies a deep secret that relates to the tragedy from five years ago.
