Emerald Weapon:- Firstly, make sure your characters are at least level 80 or above, otherwise they'll be completely dismantled. Make sure you've powered up Phoenix, Final Attack and Knights of the Round to at least two stars or three. Equip one character with Final Attack - Phoenix. Equip another with W-Summon and Knights of the Round. Lastly, try and get all party members to have Mime equipped.

Use W-Summon and Knights of the Round and mime it as much as possible. Emerald Weapon will no doubt kill all of your party with one attack at least once. This is where the Final Attack - Phoenix combo comes in. This'll resurrect all characters with full energy. Keep a close eye on health, and use Megalixirs regularly.

(Neat trick. If you have W-Item materia, it is possible to create an infinite amount of items. Have two of the type of item, select one in battle and use. Select the same item but then cancel. The amount should increase by one each time, if I've explained it correctly...)

A lot of defeating Emerald Weapon is down to luck. After you've defeated him, you'll receive one of the items that the traveller in Kalm is looking for. Exchange it, and you'll get Master Magic, Master Summon and Master Command materia. This is very useful for the next battle...

Ruby Weapon:- Select one character and equip all the master materia on them, aswell as W-Summon. Use this character to cast Hades, followed by Knights of the Round. When I played, Hades stunned the Ruby Weapon, and therefore it didn't get a chance to attack. Hold your other two characters' attacks back until the first is powered up again. Summon two Knights of the Rounds, use the second character to mime it, and the third to heal the first's MP. Then use the first character to stun Ruby Weapon with Hades and Knights of the Round, and repeat until he dies.

Good luck mate. It can be done.

All you need for ruby is ......w-summon, kotr(i had just gotten it), mime, and hades........

w-summon-kotr:hades ....kotr to the claws and hades to ruby then just mime it (i only got hit once)

and it is the same strategy for emerald except with three characters but i had two mimes and kotr was level 2, i did not use hades.....he only got two hits in, and havea final attack: pheonix and a quadra magic:bahamut zero just in case, and you only need an hp above 5,000 so you could beat him at low levels if you had the materia, you do NOT need master materia

Beating Emrald Weapon:

You'll want your characters on a fairly high level and full health. Firstly gain Mime and Knights of the round (at least two stars) and you should get W-Summon but its not compulsory.

Note: This is a sort of cheat to make Emrald have half as much health as he starts with in just one move:

Get all characters up to full health and fly the highwind to Mideel. In the forests around Mideel there are little green creatures called head hunters, what you need to do is equip manipulate to a character and find a pack of these head hunters and kill off everyone except one, you then manipulate the last one and make it attack a certain character and keep doing this until that character has an amount of health ending in 77, it could be 6177, 7377 or anything. Once you've done this escape from the battle.

Go to the item menu and use as many potions and hi-potions as is needed to get you up to 7777 health, it must be exactly 7777 or this trick will not work. Once the chosen character has 7777 save the game and get the other two characters health back to 9999 leaving the character with 7777's health as it is. Now fly to the submarine.

Enter the submarine and go down to fight Emrald.

The fight will start by the character with the 7777 health having his name coloured like that of a limit break and he will automatically attack emrald weapon before emrald can get any moves in. This attack will not be a usual attack it will hit for exactly 7777, but it will do this a total of 64 times taking off exactly 497,728 before the battle has even really started.

Using this 7's cheat will take emralds health to somewhere around the 400,000-500,000 mark. To take away this remaining health you'll need to use Knights of the round (W-Summon if you have it) then keep Miming this move, obviously not using anyother moves inbetween unless its knights of the round. after about five knights of the round he will die.

Final Side note: You probably allready know this but one you beat emrald weapon you will recieve an item called the earth harp, take this to a man in kalm (just search the town, he isn't too hard to find) and he will trade it for a master summon, a master magic and a master command, helping you significantly in beating Ruby!

P.S: If you still need help or want advice on Ruby then just PM me and i'll help if I can.

Emerald weapon was so easy for me(maybe because I was at level 97?). All I did was equip everybody with sprint shoes, as well as the mime materia. I equipped Cloud with W-summon, and KOTR. Get cloud to summon KOTR and then have the rest of the people mimic. Emerald Weapon should be down on the seventh KOTR or so.

Beating Emerald weapon, you obtain 3 master materia. Equip all three and enter battle against ruby.

Have Cloud face Ruby alone, so you don't have to wait for Ruby to sink its claws in the sand. Cast KOTR once, and use X-potion or megaelixer once, and then repeat KOTR. This should be a fairly quick battle for Ruby weapon would be down on the 3rd or 4th KOTR.

So much for the invincible weapons.-_- I say beating ruby wasn't really worth it because you only get a crappy gold chocobo. You're better off raising your own, but I guess beating ruby is quite an accomplishment.

Just W-Summoning makes it possible...but why not make it easy?

Put Counter-Mime on a few people, and have at least a master summon or 2 KOTR's.

Pair each KOTR with HP absorb, and MP absorb. Each time you summon it (or mime it for no MP) you get your HP and MP back without spending a turn, or ruining the mime by using curative items. W-Summon KOTR once, and just mime it to your heart's content.

For Ruby it's good to kill off two characters before you fight Ruby, then when you do just keep guarding until he puts his hands under and use Phoenix. You then have all 3 characters, and not just 2 or 1 from them getting sucked under. Plus physical attacks don't work too well, not even omnislash.

I can't wait to try your suggested metods but I would welcome other ways of doing it my friend told me you can do it by using four times cut several timees is this true???

Divine Strike
01-30-2002, 06:13 PM
it is true, you can beat them with just physical attacks, which makes it alot harder, the methods that we have given you will make the battles with them very easy,

the first time i beat ruby i used quadra magic hades, and w-summoning that with kotr made the battle last about 40 min

but if you want a challenge don't use our methods

chihuadog

Yes it's true. But it will take forever. KOTR is 15 or so hits, while 4x cut is only 4 hits. Also KOTR does more damage because Ruby weapon has a strong defense. You'll probably be doing 1000 or 2000 damage with each hit using 4x cut. KOTR would be doing 9000 damage for 15 times! If you want, use the 4x cut. Don't say I didn't tell you, though. You'll take forever.

Ruby Weapon:

ya my cloud has max strength and has the ultima weapon and he only does about 500-800 damage per hit, but with yuffies ultimate weapon you can do more than 1,000 damage per hit,

so if you do decide to take the long way, make sure that you use yuffie

chihuadog
01-31-2002, 01:32 AM
Nope. Cloud's stronger than Yuffie. Cloud's the strongest character in the game. If you max out his stat, and level him up to level 99, and equip him with the ultimate weapon, he can do(occasionally) 2000 damage per hit. If you use omnislash he can do 4000 damage.

I've maxed out all of my characters and I've found Cloud to be the strongest. His Ultimate Weapon is the strongest weapon in the game.

Just so you guys know, you can continue raising their strength after its maxed out...just keep on using power sources and after a while you'll know...probably why both of your Cloud's are doing different dmg w/ the same stats(because they arent really the same!)

chihuadog
01-31-2002, 02:54 AM
The swords make a big difference too. If you're using a buster sword at max stat, or the ultimate weapon at max stat, you'll be doing more damage with the ultimate weapon.

Um 1 last tip for emmy

Have 1 Kor 2 mimes. Have the person cast KOR. Now just before it starts mime. Then When the person mimes it, get the other mime to mime that KOR. Repeat and Emmy cannot attack you if you quickly repeat the pattern. Or you can be a really low level like 60 and just mime limits, as every time emmy attacks you,it will trigger the limit.

right here we go...

when you are prepared to fight Ruby weapon, after you have read the above replys, equip what everyone else said (no point in repeating it all!!) kill 2 of your party and keep one alive and enter battle. have life2 or phoenix (me) to resurect your players. if you don't do this then ruby will use whirlsand and suck someone away. when his hands are in the ground, start with wall or big guard (enemy skill) and cast KOTR on him. he will counter with ultima so be prepared to mime KOTR before he gets another attack in. when your barrier runs out, top it up. you must kill him a.s.a.p coz he will do whirlsand with his hands STILL in the ground. this could be costly... it is esential that you watch out for the claws coz they take hp and more costly mp from you. pair mastered Phoenix (me) with mastered final attack and watch the mp levels or it wont work. do this with everyone. now kick butt.......

later....

well with out going past max str yuffie does the most against ruby well with her ultimate weapon
and i guess i will just keep using power sources on cloud

this is exactly it, Hades is a great part in this, and so is Knights of Round. Bahamut ZERO with Quadra Magic was helpful also.

none of you guys know what you're doing on emerald.

give 1 or 2 of your people 2 materia each, an hp plus (mastered) and a mime. have the other person equip final attack, phoenix, kotr, and anything else that you really want, but try to keep less than 5 materia on them. when you fight emerald, cast kotr, then mime it until ruby uses aire tam storm. he will do 2222 to the 2 characters that just have mime and hp plus. this, as long as you kept their health at 9999 (which you should do, by the way), will bring them down to 7777. you can probably guess what happens next.

as for ruby, just equip a mystile, then pound him into a little pile of sand with kotr. he'll never hit you when he counters with ultima (he'll probably never hit you at all)

Actually i do know what i'm doing when facing emerald.....because emmy only got two hits on me....he never got the chance to use Aire Tram storm....he just died!!!!.....but this also might work.........----7 x Snk attack-knotr...and hp-mpswitch.... have that on two characters (now that would take a lot of time to do)

I hate the was you just put it Grand Lethal, i mean KOTR is awesome, but i dont know why you would do that, i mean i wouldnt do that, i like the weapons to put up a fight. Even though they really dont, i want to make it as hard as possaible, that is why i stock up on materia...
I am not saying that is a bad way, probablity the easyest way to kill him, i just like a long fight...

hey, he asked for tips on how to beat them, not how to have fun doing it. i guarantee that you will embarass both weapons if you do it the way i said.

and by the way, i accidently called emerald ruby once in that post, but i'm too lazy to edit it out, so the first time you see the name "ruby" substitute "emmy"

Zack
02-13-2002, 08:22 PM
i know what you mean, i am just saying, i like a fight, use Hades to slow him and Ruby down, it is useful, it is in yours two, but that really helped me.

You do not need all that. All you really need is at least one person on level 90 (might as well be Cloud), W-item (to multiply megalixers) You can train in the meteor at the level where you see water and brown branches and stuff. Magic pots. Give em' Elixers FIRST like they say and kill em'. They give you 8000 experience a piece and 2000p. sometimes they come in two. Now the way I killed Emerald was really funny I was completely unprepared, I couldn't make a Gold Chocobo so I couldn't get KOTR. Only Yuffie had counter with her Conformer weapon. Everyone had 4x cut and everyone had their special weapon (Cid -Venus Gospel/ Cloud - Ultima Weapon) I had NO MAGIC AT ALL except for Ultima but I did not even use that, only when he came with the eyes (Demi works on Emerald 9999 no matter what). Yuffie was on level 78, Cid was on 76 and Cloud 92. I kept throwing Megalixers for every pain and kept 4x - cutting. Yuffie kept dealing 9999 every hit I don't know why and Cid was hitting 7600 just about and Cloud was smacking 9400 sometimes, and Emerald did not even use Aire Tam Storm on me ONCE! Cloud had Omnislash, Yuffie had Doom of the Living and Cid had Level 2 limits (haha). So I just kept hitting him with 4x cut over and over, healing everybody when only one person got hit, and timed it correctly too I wasn't completely wasting megalixer juice. And the monkey blow up out a' no where and it scared me because I did not believe it. ( I was only seeing how long I could survive not If I could beat him I knew I was too weak.) Is this not funny or what?

What the fuck dude, you posted in a SIX year old thread. Don't you think they either stopped playing the game or beat the weapons by now?

You are a fucking retard, please don't do this again.
