As a bit of background, Arthur of the Britons was a 70's British tv show starring star of "The Stud" Oliver Tobias, Jack Watson, Brian Blessed and Michael Gothard. It was an early attempt at a more realistic, earthy version of King Arthur, by the same people who made Robin of Sherwood, a decade later. Gone were the knights in armour, Merlin, and Camelot. Arthur is a young celtic chieftain fighting against Jutes and Saxons. During its run many guest stars featured such as Tom Baker (Dr Who) and David Prowse (Darth Vader)
The theme was done by Elmer Bernstein, and although rousing, was a bit too influenced by Americans spagetti westerns. It was Paul Lewis who did the more earthier incidental music such as "Celtic Horns" and "Rowena"
