I love Shoujo Kakumei Utena, and certainly not least for its amazing music. A few years back someone uploaded the 10CD Utena CD-BOX but the tags are a bit off in my opinion so I finally decided to rehaul the whole box. The discs have both French and Japanese names. Tracks are tagged only in transliterated Japanese.

Now available again!

Yes, Ikuhara Kunihiko's works have certain distinctive, surreal nature I really like. If you like Utena I strongly suggest watching Mawaru-Penguindrum (also by him), it has ultimately the same kind of theme as Utena, and the music is also great.

I tend to think that Ikuhara is almost like David Lynch of anime, and that is a very high praise. In fact Ikuhara has said he would like to do a co-operation work with Lynch someday.

Lefance

Yup. Because the OST V has two discs, and roman numbers don't stay in order, so I added 01, 02... in the beginning of folder name.

01 OST I
02 OST II
03 OST III
04 OST IV
05 OST V <- will have two discs inside the folder
06 OST VI
07 OST VII
08 OST VIII
09 OST IX

It's just for maintaining the order :)

Been busy, I will try to get rest done soon.

Thanks for your concern, I am feeling quite good now.

I would like to talk a bit about Terahara Taka'aki aka. J.A. Seazer, or Julius Arnest Seazer (or Caesar, the thing is, I am not entirely sure should it be Caesar or Seazer, so I wound up using the more known name). He is a well known avant-gardist in Japan, and he was really "hip" in the 60s (with long hair as heck). He was a part of Tenjou Sajiki, a group that was lead by Terayama Shuuji (a legend). Seazer composed music for Sajiki's works, and I STRONGLY suggest everyone to listen a true masterpiece, an album called Kokkyou Junreika by him. Especially songs "Echigo Tsutsuishi Oyashirazu" (probably his most "cool" song with nice tempo) and "Wasan" (the last two minutes are hair-raisingly awesome) are remarkable. In fact, here they are:

J.A. Caesar - Echigo Tsutsuishi Oyashirazu - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s99lNYpeLRk)

J.A. Caesar - Wasan - YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c5JTJqBlSP0)

I really would like to thank Ikuhara and whole Be-PaPas for selecting J.A. Seazer to compose music for Utena, because without Utena I (and many others) probably would have never heard about him.

Sorry, no scans. I am pretty sure they are somewhere out there though...

Thank you. Honestly the whole show felt like it was made for the music and not the music was created for the scenes. Pretty much like the Sailor Moon SuperS movie's main theme.
